I remember Betty as the Home Economist for Middlesex County. As a new 4H leader I very much appreciated her guidance and lovely personality at our training workshops. I am sure she will be missed..
Kristin, Jennifer and Darcy, It has been an honour and privilege to have known your mother. Not only seeing her grace and steadfastness but also for the impact that she has had on my life. Knowing Betty, and hearing from her what God has done in her life inspires me to this day. I will miss her gentle words of compassion and comfort and her laugh as we talked in my office. Yet I rejoice that she has finished the race, kept her faith and is now in the presence of God who sustained and lifted her through her journey. I pray that you find comfort in knowing that she made a difference and made this world a better place, simply by being Betty.

Kristin, Darcy and Jennifer,
Our families have been such good friends for such a long time with many eventful picnics at Arva park and sharing arts, crafts and quilting. Many late night dinners at each others homes, fireworks at Grand Bend beach on July 1st, card playing, and many laughs and giggles (we can hear your moms amazing laugh still in this moment). We feel so blessed to have had your family in our lives and Betty as our friend. We wish you love and ease in the coming months as you cherish her and your memories. She is, very much so, missed. Hope you enjoy some of the photos we posted.
Our sincere condolences to the Obokata family. Our thoughts are with you. May fond cherished memories of Mrs. Obokata live on in your hearts and minds. Sending lots of love from Karla and I.

I was truly saddened to hear the news of Betty’s passing. I met Betty in the 1970’s through 4-H programs. She was a quiet, loving and passionate lady, She attended the Ilderton Fair for several years as the judge for the 4-H homecraft exhibits. I enjoyed chatting with her.
I send my sincere sympathy to you all. I attended several bible studies that Betty and Susan organized several years ago. She was always insightful, wise and kind hearted.
Love and blessings,
Nancy Holden Met. United Church

I had the privilege to work with Betty when I came on staff for OMAFRA. She was a lovely lady with such warmth about her and quickly made me feel welcome while also explaining/ teaching about the job.
Our paths crossed several times through the years and it was always so easy to chat and catchup as though no time had passed.
She will be greatly missed.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Obokata family as we convey our condolences during your time of loss. Betty was a beautiful spirit of gentle humbleness, with her lovely smile. Her gentle, caring spirit was particularly exhibited as she co-chaired and lead the various women’s bible study over the years. We are pleased, Hunt and I, we were able to get to know Betty through Village Green Community Church.
She will be greatly missed.
