Susan, Karen and family we are sorry to learn of the passing of your mom. We remember your mom’s lovely smile as your parents were our neighbours on Kinburn Cres for many years. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Susan and Karen – I had the pleasure of knowing both your parents when Betty attended the afternoon exercise class at Parkwood. Whether it was talking London Knights with your dad or listening to the story of how Betty’s cane got run over in the parking lot, Fridays were always enjoyable. I reconnected with Betty during Covid when she cycled back to Parkwood as an inpatient. They were some of the most challenging weeks of my career watching people like your mom navigate the death of her husband while under Covid lockdown restrictions. The donuts you supplied were a welcome guilty pleasure. Your mom and dad will be fondly remembered for all the time I spent with them both. And yes, your mom was an amazing lady for how she navigated all the adversity with a smile (and the odd tear of joy and sorrow). I apologize for not getting to the celebration of life. I would have liked to tell you all this in person. On behalf of the staff and volunteers that worked with Betty and Dennis, my sincere condolences.
