Obituary
WETHEY, BEVERLEY…..
Beverley June Wethey (Stothers) passed away peacefully of natural causes in her 96th year in her long term care residence on March 9th, 2024 with her family visiting her from London and beyond. Bev was the daughter of the late Marian & Rupert Stothers, dear wife of the late David H. Wethey, wonderful mother of Peter (Karen) Wethey, Carloyn (Terry) Dillon, Bruce (Lisa) Wethey, very caring grandmother to seven (Joshua, Aaron, Jessica, Delaney, Holly, Olivia, Sarah), great grandmother to 5 (Lezley, Chloe, Hailey, Jackson, Owen), dear sister of the late Dr. Robert J. Stothers and the late Mary Bailey (late William (Bill). Bev enjoyed a life of travel with her family, especially camping throughout North America…Algonguin Park will miss a great admirer and friend. She loved gardening and took great pride in her immaculate gardens. Bev was a fiercely independent woman and would rarely ask for assistance, if she asked, you knew she really needed your help. Her years of tireless volunteer work (e.g. Unitarian Service Committee) demonstrated her compassionate foundation. She was an avid bridge player, you better have known your bridge game if you played with Bev. She was a religious soul who enjoyed her time with the congregation of St. James Westminster Anglican Church in London. Bev will be sadly missed by many family and friends.
As per Beverley’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. A private interment will be held with family. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society on her behalf are welcome. Cancer took her dear husband from her much too early. Arrangements entrusted with A. Millard George Funeral Home, 519-433-5184. Online condolences, memories and photographs shared at www.amgfh.com

So sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She was such a regular at St James, and it was always so nice to see her.
May her memories be a blessing. Deepest sympathies,
Kathryn
I knew Bev through her grandson Josh and also as a fellow parishioner. Bev had a ready smile and was very welcoming. She loved her Grandchildren and liked to spend time with them, often bringing them to church with her. I thought a lot of this lady and I pray memories will help with your loss.
Dear Peter, Carolyn, Bruce and Families.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Your Mom was a great person and a wonderful Aunt. Her kindness will never be forgotten.
Dear Peter, Carolyn and Bruce
I grew up with Peter and knew Mrs. Wethey to be a gentle soul. She was always there to help us with what ever we wanted to do when young and busy.
I have not seen her for several years but when I did she her she was always sharp and knew who I was even years later.
My thoughts are with your families
