Obituary
BALLANTYNE, Beverley…
August 11, 1926 – June 21, 2024
It is with sadness the family announces that mom got her final wish, and peacefully passed away at home with her family on Friday, June 21, 2024, in her 98th year. Beloved wife for nearly 72 years to the late Herb Ballantyne (2022) and daughter of the late Harry and Florence May. Cherished mother of Jackie Ann Campbell (Peter) and Peter Ballantyne (Pat). Loving grandmother of Sheila Ballantyne (Hugh Samson), Kathryn Ballantyne (David Palmateer), and Jamie Campbell. Wonderful “GG” to Russel, Hyder, Logan and William. Special aunt to Paul Caldwell (Marilyn) and Stephen Caldwell.
Growing up in London, Bev attended South Collegiate and the University of Western Ontario, where, as a cheerleader, she met her quarterback for life. Bev was an active member of First-St. Andrews United Church and volunteer for many organizations. She loved her many summers at Grand Bend, winters in Sandestin, curling, golf and bridge at Highland and the Hunt Club with so many great friends, but her biggest joy was her family who gave her so much happiness.
At Beverley’s request, cremation and a private family inurnment will take place at Oakland Cemetery, London where she will be laid quietly to rest beside Herbie. Donations in Beverley’s name may be made to First-St. Andrew’s United Church, 350 Queens Avenue, London, ON N6B 1X6. Arrangements entrusted with A. Millard George Funeral Home, 519-433-5184. I have many fond memories of Mrs. Ballantyne from the Hunt Club. She always called me “sweetie” (which I loved), and smiled and greeted me with such warmth. She was a very classy and special lady. I will miss seeing her.
Hope you are with Mr. Ballantyne, I know you missed him so much these last two years.
Bev was one of my favourite bridge partners. She was tack sharp, a fine player, diplomatic about my poor card choices and interested in everything. Her smile was kind and wise. I am sure her family will miss her dearly.
I have many fond memories of Herb and Bev at the golf club and San Destin Florida. They were good friends with my Mom and Dad and I found them to be great fun. Please accept my most sincere condolences.
Jackie, your mom had a long life but as her daughter it’s never long enough.Take care. You will miss her.Sincere condolences, Barb Hood
My heartfelt condolences to the whole family. Bev and Herb were sweethearts and so welcoming. I have fond memories of times spent with them.
Jackie – So sorry to see this notice today. However, it seems your Mom led a very fulfilling and long life raising loving children who are good citizens and enjoying a long and happy marriage. It’s hard to lose parents but memories are in your heart and in the many photos I’m sure you have to remind you of how fortunate you are to have spent your growing years with wonderful parents. Take care.
Sincere condolences to Jackie, Peter, and families for the loss of your mom. My parents, Bill and Betty, who both recently passed away, enjoyed many fun times with your parents surrounding Western football games. I too enjoyed your parents’ joie de vivre.
Jackie,
I’m truly sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. Please accept my deepest condolences during this difficult time. A Mother’s love and memories will always be with us! Take care.
Very sad to read of Mrs. Ballantynes passing. My deepest sympathy to Jackie and Peter.

My condolences to the Ballantyne family. I grew up with Peter in the Old South and I have many fond memories of time spent at the Ballantyne’s house. Bev always had a smile for “the boys”. She was wonderful and will be missed.
