Dear Jim,
I am so sorry to hear about Barb. Growing up and into my university years Barb and you were a bonus aunt and uncle. I will remember Barb as quick to laugh and having a sparkle in her eye when telling and hearing stories. I will also always be grateful that she and my mum shared a beautiful friendship. When I was young mum would take me to visit Barb at the bookstore she worked at whenever we had a reason to be in London, and we shared many laughs in the living room or around the dinner table. Thinking of you.
Thinking of You with Deepest Sympathy. I always enjoyed the times we spent together at Thanksgiving – Barb brought such fun and joy to
everyone around her. May the warmth of family, friends and wonderful memories bring comfort to your entire family at this difficult time.
Sincerely
Pat (Bets Schmidt cousin)

Dear Jim and all of the McLachlan Family, I was deeply saddened to hear of Barb’s passing. Whether it was playing Bridge with her at the LBC, or exchanging impressions at Western’s Senior Alumni Lectures, or just visiting, Barb’s sense of humour always came through. She brought laughter wherever she was, and it cheered everyone up. She had the most wonderful way about her which made people feel comfortable.
I will miss her.
My heart goes out to you all.
Sincerely,
Cathy Woodburn
It’s with deepest sympathy too the entire family ,very sorry Uncle Jim to hear of the passing of your wife our Aunt Barb. Aunt Barb was a very easy going lovely bubbly and fun genuine person. We Howard Johnston(Edie) ,Stuart Johnston( Mary) & mother Lois sister inlaw ,send our heart fealt condolences .
Dear friend Jim, we were shocked and saddened when we received your telephone call to inform us of the passing of Barb. Our friendship goes back to the time when we were members of First Westminster United Church. Our kids were very young, and we organized the church youth group together. That friendship continued to grow over the years as we enjoyed meals at our homes, along with the games that always brought out the competitive nature in Barb when she thought that she and Arlene were winning. Arlene always enjoyed the canasta games with Barb and their long time friends. Please accept our deepest condolences to you and your family.
Dear Jim and family
I always looked forward to seeing Barb at the Bridge Club. She was smart, fun loving and knew that bridge was “just a game”.
Her family, friends, and husband were clearly the priority. She was a lovely soul and will always have a special place in the hearts of those lucky enough to have known her.
My deepest condolences to her family.
Jim and family we would like pass along our sympathy to all of you. Donna & Ron McLennan

It has been a long time since our paths have crossed but hoping that you are in good health.
Heartfelt condolences on Barb’s passing. She always had a smile and kind word when we would meet in the hallway or in the pool. I enjoyed sharing books and our love of reading. There is an empty space on the 15th floor, we all feel it. Our hearts go out to you , Jim and your family.
Dear Jim, My heart goes out to you and your wonderful family. Rick.
Dear Jim and family
I am sending my sincere condolence to you Jim in the death of your loving wife, Barb.
I will miss her being my partner in Hand and Foot and her lovely smile and conversation. She was so proud of her family and I always looked forward to hearing about the latest news of her grandchildren.
Grief is real….but it changes.
It’s a passage, not a place to stay.
Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor lack of faith… It is a price of love.
Meryl Cox
Deepest sympathy.
