Obituary
KAY, Anne Marie
With her family by her side, Anne passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026 at the age of 71.
Proud mother of Laura Mitchell and Daniel Kay and his wife Jessica. Deeply loved by her grandchildren Jakob and Kayla Mitchell, and Aubrey, Leigha, Elise and Brynn Kay. Beloved sister and sister-in-law of Beth and Paul Feagan, Scott and Mary Jo MacEwan, Robert and Bonnie Kay, Patti Hanrath and Scott and Marci Kay. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her father Peter MacEwan, her mother Jean MacEwan and her husband Paul Kay.
Anne’s greatest passion was her family. She watched with pride and a sparkling smile as her children grew to embody the care, compassion, loyalty, and integrity that their mother had modeled for them throughout their lives. She found joy in watching her grandchildren experience life and taught them her ingrained values by example.
Anne had a childhood filled with wonder and warmth as she grew up in Goderich. She moved to London with Paul in 1973, working jobs as a waitress and at the Credit Union before finding a steady home with St. Joseph’s Health Care spending time at both Parkwood and St. Joseph’s Hospital. She spent 20 years in finance and 20 more in corporate communication, handling regional and national projects while leaving an indelible mark on those she worked with.
Reading and writing were a lifelong passion for Anne. From childhood through to retirement you could often find her with a book in her hand, a pen and paper or typing away on her keyboard. Her finest work is displayed in authoring The Salt Man, a book which she truly poured her heart and soul into.
Whether catching up with neighbours on Erie Ave, engaging in a story being told by her grandkids, entertaining one of Paul’s tall tales in the garage or simply resting her feet in the sand on the shores of Lake Huron, she always had time to sit and listen. Truly selfless, Anne did all she could to be present with all who were lucky enough to call her family or friend.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Anne can be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice of London.
Services will be held at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout St. South, London with visitation taking place on Saturday June 13th from 2:00pm – 5:00pm and the celebration of life taking place on Sunday June 14th at 1:00pm.
