Miss Bergey, you were a dedicated teacher at the old London Teachers’ College. You will be missed.
Our deepest sympathy to the family of Gertrude Bergey. In 1996, Gertrude was part of the team that facilitated the amalgamation of Belton House, Hardy Geddes House and Teen Girls Home to form Western Area Youth Services. Her dedication and hard work on behalf of our agency has been greatly appreciated. She certainly will be missed.

I will always remember Gertrude’s special fondness for cats and how, when she would stop by Teen Girls Home, Gertrude would seek Peaches out and he gladly sit with her while she petted him. They each enjoyed the visit.
Gertrude was a wonderful storyteller and I loved listening to the tales of her experiences and travels. She was a kind and gentle soul. Gertrude will be missed.
Just thought I’d look up a former teacher and was surprised to find not only her name but she had died. So sad. She was a wonderful outgoing helpful person.
