GRANT, John…

January 29, 1946 – May 9, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Keith Grant, much-loved husband, father, granddad, and friend. John died peacefully at home, with his family by his side, after a courageous 7-year battle with cancer.

John was born in Ottawa and spent his formative years in Waterloo. After graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University, he took a position with the Federal Government, moving from Waterloo, to Belleville, to Ottawa, and finally settling in London as he advanced his career. John was known for his kindness, integrity, and easygoing managerial style and was both respected and admired by his colleagues.

Family was the centre of John’s life. He will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 53 years, Betty (Hainsworth) Grant, his daughter Sarah (Grant) Timothy and her husband James, and his 2 precious grandchildren, Grace and Finn Timothy. John will also be missed by his McLean Clan relatives, as his superb sense of humour made him the life of the party at their many family gatherings.

John loved to travel, and he and Betty were fortunate enough to see the world, checking off most of their bucket list and making some wonderful lasting friendships along the way. Their travels continued, even after John’s diagnosis, as he desired to live life to the fullest.

The family would like to thank their many friends and family members who have been so helpful and supportive throughout this battle. As well, special thanks go to Dr. Ernst and Matt Parezanovic of the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre.
