Obituary
LOTZ, Muriel Edna…
Muriel Lotz passed peacefully on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Victoria Hospital, London in her 98th year.
Predeceased by her spouse Dr. Frederick Lotz, her brother Hilliard McLean and her sister Marie Stoddart. Muriel was a loving, dedicated and loyal mother to her children Lorraine Leader of Saskatoon, Dr. Catherine Walsh and her husband John of London, Sandra Lotz of Delta, B. C., Anita Gulliver of London and Caroline Lotz of London. Her strength and independence will be forever remembered by her grandchildren Magdalena (Arthur) Luna and Oliver Leader, Natalie (Mike Neilson) and Ben (Jaclyn) Gulliver, Matthew and Ciara (Cole McGuffin) Walsh and Maxwell Margel. Her wisdom and legacy will be passed for generations to come through her great grandchildren Foster and Scotlyn Neilson and Neve McGuffin.
Growing up on a farm in Honeywood, ON with her beloved dog Sport, she was a self described ‘tomboy’, and would reminisce about the times she would ski to school. Muriel grew up to be a nurse and spent her career at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Guelph, ON. In retirement her competitive side excelled with a game of bridge, she became an avid knitter and baker, she had a love for the roses in her garden, but most of all she enjoyed her time with her family. Her socks and treats were gifted to all those she loved.
The family wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude to the doctors and nurses of Victoria Hospital.
A private graveside service will take place. Interment at Woodland Cemetery, London. A celebration of her wonderful life will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted with A. Millard George Funeral Home, 519-433-5184. Online condolences, memories and photographs shared at www.amgfh.com

The Faulds family was sad to hear about Muriel’s passing and is sorry for your loss. Muriel was an incredible woman and we are fortunate we had the chance to spend time with her over the years. I always picture her with the Globe and Mail in hand making insightful comments about current events. Her mind was incredible as she always knew where Kelly and Jenn were living and was kind enough to ask about their lives. She will be greatly missed.
My deep condolences to Muriel’s family. Muriel was an amazing woman. Her warmth and friendliness were stellar. Always a smile ready to greet you. We had many a wonderful afternoon playing bridge at Windermere on the Mount. The sweetest woman you could ever meet.
