So sorry and saddened for the Kirk family. Aunt Helen always brought a spark to our lives when she came to Toronto for a visit. Lots of laughs and verandah chatter with mom and I. (maybe the odd rye) and shenanigans. I miss her but sense mom was waiting to welcome her.
Helen was a very charming, funny, wise and kind woman, blessed with a very loving family. I’ll always remember the twinkle in her eyes and mischievous grins as she was plotting a new joke. I enjoyed her stories and will always have fond memories of her. Sending huge hugs to Howard, Theresa, Emily, Justine and ALL who loved Helen. <3
Aunt Helen will be missed at 2 Crane Avenue. Those visits with Mom always created such a buzz in the family. Sisters picking up these Sisters favorite foods and refreshing beverages for happy hour on the veranda. She always knew all our kids and was interested in what they were up to and it was great to discuss new books with her. Stories of the girls coming to Toronto to live & work. Wonderful drives downtown to revisit their old haunts and see how much the city had grown and changed. Can’t imagine what the Sisters are getting up to now. She will be missed. Colleen & Frank Mullen
Aunt Helen had so many stories to share, and was very knowledgeable for dates and times in history. Her eyes sparkled of the “remember when’s” of dances in war time, movies, and what dress she was wearing when she met Uncle Doug. Her love for her family was endless, she took pride in their accomplishments and her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her joy. She loved listening to CBC radio, and catching the Jays game. She was a frequent guest and Nana and Grandads and they travelled many places together. Nana and Aunt Helen were not only sisters but the best of friends. Devoted to their families and to each other as only close sisters can be. I picture Nana asking Aunt Helen what took her so long and sharing a refreshing beverage with her after she catches up with Uncle Doug and Janice. Rest easy sweet Aunt Helen, your love and legacy lives on in the many hearts and lives you touched.
Our deepest sympathy to all of Helen’s family. She was a beautiful person inside and out. We always looked forward to seeing and chatting with her during family get-togethers. She will always be remembered warmly and fondly. Hugs from Tony & Helen and family xo
This is a tremendous loss. Helen was funny, loving, and kind, and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that her family is as well. Sending love and condolences you all during this difficult time. Here’s to the “G” – she will be greatly missed!
