Obituary
TOPPING, Glenn…
Glenn Topping, son of the late Bill and Olive, was born August 14, 1928 in the family home on Topping Lane. Glenn was a cherished brother to the late Ron (Lynn) Topping and Doris (John) Morris. Loving brother-in-law to Grace Tapp (nee Kennedy). He died peacefully surrounded by family on the farm on April 14, 2022, joining his late wife Marie Topping (nee Kennedy) on her birthday. They shared 74 beautiful years of marriage.
Devoted father to Barbara (John) Moore, Linda (Garry) Graham, and the late Douglas Topping. Loving grandfather to Sara (Darryn) Dresdner, and Amanda (Trevor) Topping. Great grandfather to Jordan, Brandon, Alisa, Avery and Lilly. Loving uncle, nephew and cousin; a cherished friend of many.
Throughout his 93 years of life, Glenn “Bup” was a jack of all trades, enjoying and thriving in many adventures. Bup started with early mornings working on the dairy farm, delivering fresh milk, growing to have the first electric pasteurized milking farm in the area. He continued the farm by expanding into agriculture, livestock, and racing horses. Bup was well travelled, adventuring across the globe, while knowing the value of every treasure found. Bup had a pilot’s license, flying his own plane throughout Canada. He was a ‘doer and a fixer’; truly a one-of-a-kind guy. He also loved fishing, hunting and the great outdoors.
Bup was a collector of many things, especially of cars of all kinds. He ventured into auto wrecking, starting with Corey’s and then building his work family at Andy’s Auto Wreckers. He was proud of his endeavors with the Forest Sands Hotel. Bup was a passionate entrepreneur and financier, growing into many successful business ventures.
Bup will be remembered as a welcoming, calm, patient, loving ‘slow poke’.
Special thanks to Agneiszka Siierkowskii “Aggie” for the utmost care and dedication she provided to both Glenn and Marie to ensure comfort in their end of life. Thank you to the VON and Dr. Hamilton’s Palliative Care Team.
