Passed away peacefully at Chesley Park Long Term Care, on Thursday, February 10, 2022 in her 95th year. Loving daughter of the late Abram and Mary Wiebe.
Survived by her siblings David (Sharon) of Niagara Falls, Peter (Joan) of Grimsby, Mary of Beamsville, and Agatha MacGregor(John) of Toronto. Predeceased by her siblings, Lena, George (Norma), Ella, and Johanna (Ken) Murray,. Loved and remembered by her nephews Brian, Robert, David (Tammy), and Timothy (Shannon), and their families.
Lydia was born in Winkler Manitoba. The family moved to Ontario when she was 14. After studying at Emmanuel Bible College in Kitchener, she completed the Registered Nursing Assistance Course in Hamilton. Lydia worked for over 30 years at Westminster Hospital in London. After she retired from nursing, she did some volunteer work for Compassion Canada and for Send International Canada. Lydia felt she had been blessed in her life.
Cremation has taken place. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London. A memorial service will be held at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London, on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 11:30 am. At the family’s request those who are attending are required to be double vaccinated. Proof of vaccination and photo identification will be required. All those attending are required to wear masks and follow COVID-19 protocols. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Send International of Canada, 22423 Jefferies Road, Komoka, ON NOL 1RO.
