Obituary
LAXON, David Henry…
February 7, 1932- July 10, 2021
David Henry Laxon passed away peacefully on July 10, 2021 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Esme, loving father of Paul Laxon, Simon Laxon (Margo) and Rebecca Nash (Kevin), grandfather to Sarah, Christopher and Jonathan Laxon, Sean and Kendall Nash, Chloe and Annalise Laxon. Predeceased by his parents, Henry and Daisy and by his brother Edward.
David was born in Fleggburgh, Norfolk, England. He left school at 13 to become an apprentice electrician and worked (except for two years in the Army) as an electrician in England and on oil rigs in the North Sea. He married June (Packham) and they immigrated with their two young sons to Canada in 1966, settling in London, Ontario where David worked as a construction electrician on such projects as Fanshawe College, Victoria Hospital, and the Nanticoke Power Plant before working at the St. Thomas Ford plant until retirement. David had a love of reading, photography, gardening, and crossword puzzles. Airplanes, especially those of World War II, were a lifelong interest of his perhaps because of the air force bases stationed in Norfolk during the war.
He was a kind, gentle man and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care and its staff who cared for David in his final years.
Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held. Donations in memory of David may be made to Diabetes Canada, 1400-522 University Avenue, Toronto ON, M5G2R5. Arrangements entrusted with A. Millard George Funeral Home, 519-433-5184. Online condolences, memories and photographs shared at www.amgfh.com
