Dear Oakes Family, Uncle Carl was my Mom s Uncle. My Daddy, sister Karla & I used to call him Uncle Carl as well. I have fond memories when I was young driving to London to see Uncle Carl, Auntie Joyce, their children & Rebels (the family Dog). I also have fond memories of Michael & Christy coming to see us in Kitchener with Uncle Carl & Auntie Joyce. Thank you for your service Uncle Carl and thank you for loving all of us!!. We will miss you!!. My deepest sympathies to the Oakes family, you will be in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Karol-Ann Kechnie Tourigny (daughter of Gord & Carolyn Kechnie.)

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Uncle Carl. I have very many fond memories of visits with him and Joyce in London, Sudbury, Bathurst and – of course – Necum Teuch. I especially recollect one Easter spent in London when I was amazed to discover that the Easter Bunny ALSO delivered toys – not just candy! In this case – it was a wind up frog for the bathtub and a slinky if my memory serves. I also remember a full head of thick white hair – paired with hearty laugh, a good natured chuckle and mischievous twinkle. I know he will be sorely missed.
Once again, my sincere condolences.
