Obituary
SNELL, Greg….
Peacefully with his family by his side, Gregory “Greg” Snell passed away at Parkwood Institute, London, on Friday, May 7, 2021 in his 65th year. Beloved husband of Heather (nee Booth) Snell. Loving father of Graham Snell (Jo-Dee) and Devon Snell. Cherished Grandpa of Aria Anne and Dominic. Predeceased by his parents Ray and Bette Snell. Dear brother of Jeff Snell (Dawn) and brother-in-law of Bud (Moe), Scott (Kim), David, and Paul (Michael). Greg with be missed by Marcia (Richard) and his nieces and nephews.
Greg was a quiet man with many talents. He was hard working and loved his family dearly. He had a strong passion for photography – collecting antique cameras and winning an abundance of photography contests through his work at 3M. His love for music was like no other. He listened to a wide variety of genres, from classical to rock, and made sure to introduce his kids to everything along the way. An original Baltimore Oriole’s fan (and a Blue Jay’s fan in his later years), Greg always enjoyed a baseball game.

Scott was reminiscing about all the years he picked Greg up on the 3M van and of course the service award dinners we sat together. Hugs to all of you.
Oh Heather and family, I’m so sorry Greg had to leave. I know these last years have been difficult but everything around Greg was filled with such love. I only got to know you and Greg when he was at the point he needed extra help. So I never knew the old Greg, but the Greg I saw was a man with such a beautiful alive spirit. He loved his old south and told me about the businesses and homes we walked past on our rounds. I got a sense of his talent and love for life and his family. Thank you for letting me be a part of it. I can see the world was better because Greg was in it
I worked with Greg for many years, soft-spoken and kind and an amazing photographer. I have one of his prints on my wall which I cherish. My condolences to his family.
To Greg’s family and friends,
Please accept our sincerest condolences on Greg’s passing. I had the good fortune of working with him in my very first leadership role at 3M almost 20 years ago. He taught me a lot about how to approach work in a calm, thoughtful and pragmatic way and was truly a pleasure to work with. As many others mentioned, his photography was also a real highlight as it was always on display in our office and really showcased his artistic side. He will be missed.
My condolences to Heather and Greg’s family. It was a pleasure to have Greg as a co-worker in our early working days at 3M in the A&C Lab. So sad to hear of his passing.
My deepest condolences to Heather and family. Greg was a wonderful person and it was a pleasure knowing him.
My sincere condolences to Greg’s family. He was a great work colleague for many years with calm demeanor, and invaluable insights and experience. I met Greg as a masters student 25 years ago prior to joining 3M Canada. He was instrumental in contributing to my masters research thesis and helped formulate my early impressions of what it could be like to work in the 3M Canada Lab. I will be forever grateful.
RIP
My sincere condolences for Greg’s family. Greg, Jeff, Mark Smithson, John Holman and I hung out a lot and played softball together. Fond memories from Central Baptist. You all are in my prayers.
Our thoughts and prayers and all the love that we have is being sent to you. Greg was an amazing man and we loved him. I have many great memories spent with you and your boys (now men)!
We love you all too.
Greg always influenced and touched everyone he came in contact with. He leaves very special memories especially surrounding holidays and family events. I will miss and love Greg every day in my heart. Your peacefulness, kindness, humour, and presence will live in everyone you touched Greg.
The epitome of “a good man, a good person ” Always a humble thoughtful and caring human being. An honor to have known him. On to a better life
I’ve had the privilege of knowing Greg over the years and I am very grateful for the friendship. He was was dedicated to his family, friends and co-workers. He will be missed by all but his memory will forever captured in his photographs he took and the great smiles in our hearts.
Please accept my deepest sympathy in your loss. Our family lived across the street from the Snells on Moore Street. In fact my father delivered both Greg and Jeff. Their delivery was a surprise as Ray and Bette were not expecting twins. My hope to you is your memories help take away your sadness.
I’m so very sorry to hear of Greg’s passing. I’m praying for you Heather and for your family, may you feel Gods presence in the coming days and months.
Over 55 years ago we met the Snell family. We had much in common. Boys .Jeff and Greg and our own three sons Lee, Dan and John. Fun times at Ipperwash beach ,ice cream cones at Thedford, days at each others cottages and, oh yes, the fun of those ball games at Port Clarke. The years have come and gone with distance separating all of us.. But this we do know , we will all meet again , perhaps, sooner than we think. Our love and continuing prayers for you Heather, Graham, Jo-Dee ,Devon, Jeff and Dawn and your families
from the Talbot family
Like so many others who had the privilege of working with Greg at 3M, I too was touched by his calm demeanour and focused attention to detail. My condolences to his family at this time of bereavement.
Because my career took me away from London I have not seen Greg in a few years and most of my memories are from a time before he became ill. Even if I tried I could not think of a negative thing about this man. He was always kind and me being the youngest probably more of a pain than I should have been this meant something to me as both Jeff and Greg chummed with my older brothers. Greg was an achiever and I emember him going very far in the old boys Brigade structure. I love to see him laugh as he was a man of few words this was a treat. And when he laughed he laughed well. I look forward to seeing him again in heaven and hearing that laugh on that joyous day . My condolences to the entire family and my prayers are with you.
I’m a better person for having met you and I’m a better caregiver for having met Greg. Thank you for helping us hear Greg’s voice. It was an honour to care for such a witty (oh, his smiling eyes!) gentle man . Please accept my deepest condolences to you and your entire family..

Heather & family,
What memories our families made together as the kids were growing up – living on the same street, going to the same church, kids at Lord Roberts, babysitting for each other, attending baseball games together and lots of hanging out. Through it all, we got to know and appreciate Greg’s gentle spirit, his love for his family and his commitment to God. We send our love to you all as you face the days ahead without Greg.
