Dear Petrenko Family,
I was saddened to have read in the London Free Press that your parents, Michael and Katrina, passed in the last 6 weeks, Michael just in the past few days. What a wonderful couple. They came to Canada to seek refuge and opportunity following WW2 like so many others of that era. I recall our families gathering at numerous community functions over the many years to celebrate freedom. As I was growing up I remember having to behave myself whenever I was in the company of your father. What a gentle and amazingly accomplished man he was. His quiet and firm leadership was so respected by all who met him. As a couple they contributed in so many meaningful ways to everything that is great about Canada. They will be missed. Our hearts and prayers go out to your family.
