Obituary
ANDERSEN, Vicky (nee Bolton)….
Victoria died peacefully and with grace in her home in London, Ontario surrounded by love on 29 January 2021.
Mum/Vicky/Gam was deeply loved and loved beyond measure. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 49 years, Bjarne Andersen, and their children, Peter (Jennifer), Megan (Chris), Susan (Owen), and her grandchildren, of whom she was most proud, Kate, Amelia, Jack, Bridget, Thomas, Grace, Lily, and Beatrice. Also by her brother David Bolton and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Harold Bolton.
Victoria immigrated to Canada with her parents, Joan and Martin in 1967. She worked as a teacher with the TVDSB, as a mother, a gardener, a painter with The Lambeth Art Association, a volunteer at Ten Thousand Villages, Ronald McDonald House, and St. Aidan’s Anglican Church. But most of all she was a fierce and unabashed champion for people, vulnerable people most of all.
A private funeral will take place at St. Aidan’s Anglican Church with Reverend Canon Dr. Kevin George officiating. A public memorial service will be held when possible.
In lieu of flowers, we ask you to consider a donation to LUSO, 2-1193 Oxford Street East, London ON N5Y 3M2 or Doctors Without Borders (MSF), 551 Adelaide Street West, Toronto ON M5V 0N8.

Vicky immediately made me feel welcome when I showed up at St Aidan’s. I got to know her more through Education for Ministry, where we met and shared deeply with one another each week. What a gem of a human. Vicky was caring, honest, genuine, questioning, bold, sensitive and a servant. She impacted me immensely and I will miss her. My prayers are with whole family.
To all of the Andersen family-my sincere condolences on the passing of Vicky. She was a force of nature, with a giving heart and so much compassion. She will be greatly missed. Donna Secord

My deepest sympathy to your entire family. A great loss to you all and to her church family. There really are no words.
Vicky had tremendous capacity to do good, and encourage those around her to do similarly. She was one of those lights who helped illuminate the journey of life.
We are so saddened by this, and wish to express our deepest condolences. We will continue to hold the Andersen family in our prayers.
We never would have felt ready to say good-bye to someone as special as Vicky, but this timing feels especially tough. Vicky blessed so many people with her welcoming hugs, faith and kindness.
Wishing your family comfort and strength for the days and weeks ahead. We’ll be praying for all of you.
Lisandra and Miguel
We will never forget the warmth and kindness Vicky showed us on our first visits to St Aidans. We felt the great need to worship but were lost in our own recent grief. Vicky embraced us – instinctually – and made us feel so welcome. This act is a fraction of the grace we know she showed all. I am especially appreciative of the love and care she showed my Mother. To her family: Our prayers are focused on the soothing of your hearts. We know God is now the steward of her much deserving soul.

She was a role model to many, deservingly so. Vickie could make any bad day better with her infectious smile and infamous hugs. She touched so many lives. Her kind understanding way was one of the many gifts she shared. I often thought how lucky her kids were to have a mom like her. Words are incapable of describing what a wonderful person she was and what a void she leaves behind. Our deepest condolences and love to the entire Andersen clan during this sad time. May her unconditional love she felt for you all bring you peace. Hugs to all the grandkiddies. Respectfully, the Hopkins family. Xo
To say my heart is broken is an understatement. No words can convey all the emotions I feel for this woman. God gave me a gift when he let our paths cross months ago at the ER and I was able to tell her my thoughts and feelings. I am so grateful. ….. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire “Anderson Clan” ??????
I am so devastated to hear of Vicky’s passing. She was a kindred spirit to me in so many things – particularly music and services that made us tear up, and most especially the love and pride we had in our families.
My love and prayers to you in these sorrowful days.
Bjarne, Peter, Susan, Megan and the rest of the family, Vicky was the most wonderful person. She cared so much about so many. Her family was so important to her and how she would talk about the family showed all the love she had for you. Vicky touched so many of us at St. Aidan’s with her caring and warmth. She will be missed by many. I feel truly blessed to have known her.
Our hearts ache for all in Vicky’s family. So many lives have been enriched by her love. The heavens will shine brighter with her presence, and she will never be forgotten.
From childhood to early adulthood she was a warm and loving presence in my life. A close friend of my mothers we spent many happy days in her home and I have so many wonderful memories I will cherish forever. Her smile, her kindness and her wisdom and humor will never be forgotten ?

I have the joy to have a few lovely conversations with Vicky . There is one that stands out right now is her journey of essentially being alone, her meeting Bjarne, having her kids , their marriages that created that beautiful extended family full of life and joy. She simply could not believe how blessed and lucky she was.

Our sincere condolences to the Andersen family in the sad loss of Vicky. You are all in our prayers and thoughts.
Thank you, family Andersen, for renewing our relationship when you, Vic and Bjarne visited our farm in Sweden. When we two years later visited the family Andersen, we remember your open home and hospitality during our visit in Canada. Our stay was filled with joy and tremendous inspiration with late night discussions where you shared all your experiences from England, emigration to Canada and life in Canada. Our Children especially remembers you, when you served them English breakfast with a Scandinavian touch and Canadian maple syrup. We will remember you in our thoughts and hearts with happiness and joyfulness.
Dear Bjarne & Family
Our Deepest Condolences to you your family. May you find Comfort and Peace in all Your Beautiful Memories with her.

I only met Aunt Vicky twice but she made a fast and large impression on me. Her warmth, humour, vivaciousness, openness and welcoming nature were instantly apparent and I have often thought about the short moments I was lucky enough to share with her. I know this is an immense, unspeakable loss for your family and my heart is with you during this time. Sending love and strength, Alison (David Andersen’s partner)
My deepest sympathy to you, Bjarne, and your family. Because of her dedication to St Aidan’s, Vicki’s spirit will always be there.

As my across-the-street neighbour for most of my childhood, I will truly miss visiting with Vicky when I come ‘home’ to visit my parents. She was always incredibly cheerful, kind, and genuinely interested in how me and my kids were doing. It’s hard to imagine the neighbourhood without her. I am so sad that she is gone and I send much love to Bjarne, Megan, Sue, and Peter.
We are deeply sorry for your loss.
Barney and Family:
We were so shocked to learn of Vickie’s passing, not knowing that she had been ill. We first met Vickie a few years ago when we were raising funds and working to get Zalah settled afet immigrating from Sudan. From the first moment we met her it was clear that she was a role model for human empathy and Christian generosity. We learned so much from her over the years and as much as we will all miss her, she will live on in us trying to live up to her teachings. She is dearly missed . Please accept our deepest sympathies for your loss. We will alllament her passing.
Sincerely,
Bob and Charlotte Southern.
When we arrived in Canada in 1984, some of the first people we met at St. Ansgar were Vicky & Bjarne. Good people; good memories. Our condolences to all.
To Bjarne, Peter Jennifer Megan Chris Susan and Owen You are in my prayers Vicky was the first one to greet me when i started coming to St Aidan’s and she greeted me every day after that “She is one in a million I was lucky to know her
We are heartbroken that time with this incredible woman has been cut short for now. We thank God that so much of her lives on in all of you.
Dear Bjarne and Family
I too was heart broken to learn of Vicky’s passing so I can hardly begin to imagine your wounded hearts. I felt privileged to have shared a few years together in EFM as we all shared our spiritual journey’s, as well as, insights from our readings. I always cherished her wisdom both intellectually, spiritually and her understanding and curiosity of others and ‘life’. She was a mentor in her own kind and gentle way.
Her smile could light up a room and radiate all that is good. Equally, when she pulled out her personal book of collected quotes and poems (which she somehow could always locate the perfect one) it was an “Aha” moment in time. As she read these or Sunday readings or reflecting on her love of Bjarne, her kids and grandkids her eyes filled with overflowing love, joy and matching tears. I loved that authentic part of Vicky. Her love of family was not just words but actions. I can still see her looks of love and admiration as she looked at the Andersen clan gathered together in the front pews. Seeing that most weeks, gave me tears of joy. I am sure her deep spiritual beliefs gave her and all of you some comfort despite such an incredible loss. “Grief is the tax of our love of Vicky.”She will take up a huge space in all our hearts. I felt blessed to have crossed life paths. God Bless you all.
Hugs,
Maureen W

Vicky is very precious. She was a bright spark of light and love who inspired all of us to be better and more compassionate people. It is a testament to her open heartedness that so many are affected by her loss. To her amazing family: there are no words, but know that you are all greatly loved by many people as well.
We were so shocked and saddened to hear about Vicky’s passing. She was one of the first people we met at RMH and she was so kind, gentle and full of strength, goodness and positivity. We spent many hours in the House with Vicky and we have very fond memories of our interactions with her. She was an inspiration to my daughters and to all of us that were lucky enough to be ‘on shift’ with her!
Our deepest sympathies go out to the whole family – whom she often talked about as she told stories and beamed proudly. God Bless.
On behalf of my children and I, I would like to express our deepest sympathies to the Andersen family on the loss of their matriarch. She was an amazing, selfless woman.
