Obituary
McCREADY, Peter Joseph….
Peter McCready passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at the age of 71, after a brief and sudden battle with cancer. Beloved husband and best friend of Barbara McCready (née Costello) for 47 years. Cherished father of Christopher (Kimberley), Sean, and Melissa (Shannon) McCready. Poppa Pete of Haven, Lucas and Juniper McCready. Peter is survived by his sister Anne McElhone and Jason Sapelack. Predeceased by his parents Wray and Rita McCready and siblings Paul, Joan and John McCready.
Peter was born and raised in Tillsonburg, Ontario, and graduated with a BA from the University of Western University. Peter met and married Barbara and raised their three children in London, Ontario. Owner and operator of McCready Painting and Decorating Ltd. for over 40 years, he loved his work and his clients. A philosopher-painter, he was a blues musician and played the harmonica with so much heart. Poppa Pete, a kind generous loving man, had a way of helping others dig deep and get right to the heart of the matter. He was a real support to everyone around him and brought gentle grace, tolerance, introspection, and cheer to all. His family and friends felt his unconditional love, deep in the core of their being. Poppa Pete was love, light, joy and peace. His lessons will live on forever. He lived in peace, and now he rests in peace.

I am so sorry for your loss of a wonderful man. I had the pleasure over the last several years of having Peter do Painting at our office building the education centre. He was the most kindest man I have ever met and such compassion. I literally cried when I heard the news. He was a wonderful man taking too soon. He will be missed. I’m so so sorry for your loss.
So sorry to hear of Pete’s passing. My thoughts are with his family at this time.

Our deepest sympathy to Barbara and family. During the many years I have known Pete he was always friendly with a great sense of humour. I saw him last at 2019 Costello Christmas gathering where he wore his famous hat while providing great music. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. May he rest in Peace.

Dear Barb, Anne and family,
My deepest condolences to you all at this time. I have many special memories of family times with the McCreadys and Roseharts and the interactions between Peter and my brothers over the years growing up. I will remember Peter’s smile, laughter and love for his family.
My deepest condolences to the McCready family upon hearing of Peter’s passing. Peter was a tremendous friend of mine growing up in Tillsonburg. I cherish the memories we had playing tennis til the wee hours of the morning, going to local fairs to bet on harness races, our golf outings in Delhi & poker nights. Peter was my best man at my wedding in 1972 for which I am forever grateful. What a great fun loving individual. Taken way to soon. RIP Peter
He always had time and was really interested in what you had to say. A very proud intelligent man who loved my sister with all his heart and soul. I know his children and grandchildren are reflecting the important messages of love and tolerance he conveyed.
If the point to living the perfect life of leaving the world a better place then when we found it, then Peter McCready did so with a full heart and no regret, my condolences to all who lost a dear husband, father, brother and freind.
