Obituary
HESSEL, Margaret Rodney (nee Dunn)…
After a full, well lived, blessed life, Margaret passed away on Monday, September 21, 2020. She will be remembered for being a vibrant, gracious lady and a faithful member of the Anglican Church. Margaret and her late husband Keith Hessel enjoyed many adventures including family camping, a love of sailing and going to the cottage on Narrows Island in Georgian Bay. Margaret’s generous spirit was evident in providing service to others during her years of work in healthcare, and then volunteer work for the V.O.N. and numerous ministries at St. James Church when she retired. She leaves loving memories to her children Dave (Nancy) Hessel, Sue (Bob) Simpson. Treasured Grandma to Nathan (Ashley) and Luke, Cara (Garth) and Emily. Great Grandma to Holden and Heath, sister to Chris Dunn (Maryl) of Hamilton. Dear companion to Wayne MacPherson. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared her love. Our heartfelt thanks to the devoted staff at Grand Wood Park. Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside is planned. Donations in Margaret’s honour may be made to St. James Westminster Church, 115 Askin Street, London, ON N6C 1E7. Arrangements entrusted with A. Millard George Funeral Home, 519-433-5184. Online condolences, memories and photographs shared at www.amgfh.com

For Marg’s Family:
It was with great sadness that I heard of Marg’s passing last week. She was a very dear friend to both myself and my son Christopher for many years and was so supportive of the many ministries I was responsible for at St James during my time there. Marg did serve on the Anglican Fellowship of Prayer Executive for many years and they asked me to express their condolences to you as well. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers and full of gratitude for the life and ministry of Marg.
Our family was deeply saddened to learn of Margaret’s death. I have known both Margaret and her brother Chris for many years as our lives were entwined at St. James. My father(Rev. DR. Merifield) and her father worked together at ST. James. Mr. Dunn, as both the Rector’s Warden and a professional engineer was in charge of the construction and expansion of the current parish hall. It is from their father that they both learned what true friendship and loyalty to ones beliefs really means. I remember many stories of our families working together.
We would like to also express our sympathy to her faithful companion-Wayne MacPherson who, for the past few years has been her support and helper. He accompanied Margaret to many doctor and hospital visits dinners ,and other adventures. We would enjoy going for coffee after church on Sunday with both of them. It was definitely a pleasure to have known this family. We will always cherish the time that we have spent with them. Our prayers are also extended to her entire family.
Affectionately ,
Bishop ,Joan , Chris ,MiMi, Caroline and Amanda

I never met Margaret but corresponded with her re the Farrier family history. She was always willing to be helpful and came across as a very genuine and sincere person with a love for many aspects of life. So glad to read such lovely comments about one of our family. May the Lord comfort all her family and friends.
