Obituary
McLEOD, Susan Ruth….
Passed into Paradise peacefully, on March 15, 2020, in her 71st year, in London, Ontario. Missed deeply by her loving family and friends. Daughter of the late Donald Norman McLeod and Katherine McLeod Corrin; sister of Donald J. McLeod (Brenda) and Douglas N. McLeod (Diane); Auntie Sue to Katie McLeod (Shawn), Emily Havercroft (Matt), Andrea McLeod Wilcox (Matt), Donald R. McLeod, and Kimberly McLeod; Great Aunt to Ben, Charlotte, Sam and James.
When Susan’s mother Katherine married Dr. Bern Corrin in 1989, she inherited more loving siblings – Ray Corrin, Norm Corrin (Sharon), Mary Joan Henderson, Grace Corrin, Ruth Mitchell (Fraser), Ann Prendergast (Steve), Barb Powell (Guy) – as well as their children and grandchildren. Fondly remembered by dear friends of her church and Sudan Interior Mission communities, as well as by the extended Thomson clan. Susan began her nursing career in London, Ontario, and was led to serve as a missionary for SIM at Kent Academy in Nigeria, and later in Paraguay and Bolivia. Upon returning to Canada, Sue was a loyal member on Missions Boards at Wortley Baptist Church and Hillside Church in London. She never missed a birthday with a handmade card – and a silver dollar or box of handmade cookies. Her generous spirit, kind heart and sense of humour will be greatly missed by those who knew her and loved her.
Although the on-site memorial on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 1 pm is private, family and friends are invited to watch the service live from the comfort of their homes, by visiting the AMG Funeral Home YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpfL6_cm3hysYQm6qoamdgQ or our website and clicking the YouTube logo. As per the directive of the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, a limited number of people can attend. All those attending are required to wear masks and follow COVID-19 protocols. Donations to one of the following organizations in Sue’s memory would be graciously appreciated: Sudan Interior Mission International or Hillside Church London. Hi Don and Doug
I am sorry to hear of Sue’s passing. I trust that you and your family will be comforted by the Psalmist…” in His Presence is fullness of joy, In His right hand are pleasures forevermore “ Ps.16:11.
Dave and Wendy
Sue was a Great Lady so dedicated and helpful in all she did and took such good care of the ailing ones.
God will reward her.
God’s Love and Care
Sue did her nursing training with the Kitchener-Waterloo School of Nursing.
These were the days where student nurses lived in residence, did their nursing education and worked in the hospital. We all shared such fond memories of our training days in the Class of 1971. She was a valued and wonderful colleague and friend. We will miss her dearly. My deepest sympathy to you all.
Marion Kelterborn
Classmate of Class of 1971
Dear McLeod and Corrin families, so sorry to learn of Sue’s passing. She has been missed lately at Hillside. She was always an encouragement to all who knew her. Her faithfulness in serving the Lord in missionary service is an ongoing legacy. Our houghgts and prayers are with you all.
