Obituary
COUTINHO, Marian Olsen
Peacefully after a short struggle, surrounded by her family and friends, Marian Olsen Coutinho passed away at Victoria Hospital, London on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the age of 93. Beloved daughter of the late Clarence Olsen and Edith (Carr) Olsen. Loving wife of the late Evaristo Coutinho (2014), and lovingly remembered by her many cousins (Carr), step daughters (Grace, Ana, Tereza and Paula Coutinho), and close family friends and neighbours. Predeceased by her cousins Albert Carr, Sherry Arthur, and Reverend Jim Carr. Marian was a woman who was generous in her hospitality, and loyal to her family and friends. She strongly believed in civic duty and that everyone could make their communities a better place. She was very proud of her Elgin County roots, and always looked on the bright side of things. Visitation will be held at A. MILLARD GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, 60 Ridout Street South on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 2-3 pm. The funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel at 3 pm with Reverend Patt Nunn officiating. Cremation and interment will take place at a later date. Many thanks to the care and compassion provided by the staff of Victoria Hospital. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. I have so many wonderful memories of Marian throughout the years. She used to tell us stories about when her and Grandpa were kids and they used to play together at his house. It was always nice when her and Evaristo would come to our family get togethers. Her and Evaristo would talk about Evaristo’s Portuguese heritage. Her and I would always talk about our health problems over the years and she always wanted to know how I was doing. We always exchanged Christmas cards up until the past 2 years when she was finding it harder to write. Marian will definitely be missed.
