SHEARING, Sheila …
We are sad to announce the passing of Sheila at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the age of 83. Sheila leaves her daughter Janice (Steve Mayne), son Peter (Rhonda Millikin) and grandson Marshall Mayne. She will be deeply missed by her brother and sister in law Dave and Dianne Smith, her nieces and nephews Heather, Chris, Sheila Jeanne, Lee, Kathy and Terry. Predeceased by her husband Rod, her sister Beverly (Bill) Corbett and nephew Stuart Smith. Sheila was born in New Westminster, B.C. She and Rod found their way to London after stops in Edmonton, Calgary and Toronto. Sheila was a longstanding member of St. James Westminster Church and the London Horticultural Society (45 years). She also had a long association with the Lambeth Horticultural Society, the Ontario Horticultural Association, the Civic Garden Complex, Western Fair horticultural displays and flower shows and many folks in gardening circles. Memorial Service will be held at St. James Westminster Anglican Church, 115 Askin Street, London, ON, N6C1E7 on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 1 pm. Cremation has taken place. In Sheila’s memory, if desired, you may make a donation to St. James Westminster Church Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to A. Millard George Funeral Home, 519-433-5184. Sheila will be missed by all her family and friends. She was always smiling and encouraged newbie gardeners with tips and cuttings. I feel privileged to have known Sheila for many years.

Sheila will be missed at St. James. I remember many years of Sheila planting flowers with the Sunday School on mother’s day – so patient, and she embraced the fun and mess of planting with little kids.
Oh my goodness Sheila could make me laugh. I will miss her smiling face, sunny disposition and fun times talking about gardening.

Janice and the rest of the family on the passing of Sheila. I was privileged to know her as the lovely woman that she was. She was fun to know and I will miss our dinners together.
On behalf of the Friends of the London Civic Garden Complex, I wish to express our deepest sympathies to Sheila’s family. Sheila was a volunteer with our group for 18 years. Always a smile on her face, her gentle spirit and warmth always radiated from her.
She was a talented floral designer and knowledgeable gardener who shared her passion with many aspiring gardeners. The entire Horticultural community will surely miss her.

Sheila along with her infectious smile and goodwill will be sorrily missed by the Horticultural Community. Her many contributions, commitment to and mentoring of others in all things Horticulture is a legacy which will continue. May she rest in peace
I have known Shelia for many years as a friend, mentor and an inspiration. She gave generously of her time and endless energy. I’ll always remember her smiling face and laugh. She will be greatly missed by gardeners and everyone who crossed her path.

We were very saddened to learn of Sheila’s recent passing. We knew Sheila for many years through her enthusiastic involvement in coordinating the Horticultural Society’s Flower Show at the Spring Home and Garden Show. She was a lovely lady and a pleasure to work with.
