MINER, Rita Katherine….
In the early hours of September 28, 2018, in the presence of her daughters Rita Miner passed away at Middlesex Terrace, in her 97th year. Predeceased by her husband Gordon Miner (2003). She is survived by her daughters Katherine Gelinas (Bill), Josie Miner and Anne Miner (Gord Box). Proud grandmother of Charles and Bill (Erin), Meaghan and Erin (Guy), Katie (Sean), Mathew (Melissa) and Maggie (Jonathon). Much loved by her 6 great-grandchildren. Survived by her sister Bernadette Pickard and her nieces and nephews. Rita was a registered nurse who enjoyed a long career. She was a fiercely proud Canadian who loved the Georgian Bay and traveled extensively, with her husband Gord throughout Canada. She resided at Grand Wood Park Retirement Home for the past 5 years. The family wishes to thank the staff of Middlesex Terrace for their compassionate care. Visitation on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London from 7-9 pm, with prayers at 7 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue, London on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 10 am. Interment in Hillcrest Cemetery, Parry Sound.
