Obituary
THOMAS, Geoffrey MacClement…
On Sunday, May 20, 2018 our world lost a truly wonderful man, Geoffrey MacClement Thomas. With his family by his side, Geoffrey passed away peacefully enveloped in their love and hearing their blessings. Geoffrey is survived by his loving wife Linda and adoring children, Dr. Andrea Thomas (Marc Bachli), Mark (Nannalin Ongprasert) and beloved grandchildren, Owen (9) and Emma (5) Bachli. Geoffrey is also survived by his sister Alison Reid (Stephen), nieces Jennifer Hall (Brian), Suzanne Reid, Laura Morgan (William) and nephews Michael Horton and Andrew Reid (Karina). Predeceased by his twin sister, Madeleine Thomas and parents, Dr. Hartley Thomas and Ruth Thomas. Fondly remembered also by his brother-in-law Steve Horton (Mary Lou), North Bay and Linda’s cousins Claire Lockhart (John) and Jill Labreche who all knew him well from summers spent at Trout Lake. Geoff studied at Macdonald College, McGill University and began his career as an accountant at Nortel. He subsequently worked at Pfizer Animal Health Division (London) as Head of the Accounting Department where he worked for 21 years. He also taught night classes at Fanshawe College. In 2002 Geoff acquired a position teaching accounting at London International Academy. It was there that he had the most fulfilling years of his working life. He genuinely enjoyed sharing his knowledge of accounting and mentored and encouraged many students who held him in high regard. A natural athlete, Geoff enjoyed downhill skiing with his family, and loved playing tennis, basketball and golf. Baseball was a lifetime favourite since he played it as a young man as a minor league pitcher. He was also a history enthusiast and an entertaining storyteller, especially around the dinner table and on the beach at the family cottage on Trout Lake, North Bay. Geoff was a genuine friend to many. He was a patient listener, a kind, helpful, caring man who was always full of love and respect for those he had the privilege to know. We will miss his witty sense of humour. Most importantly, Geoff cherished his family: his wife, children and grandchildren. He never missed an opportunity to tell friends how proud he was of them. The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the incredible staff and volunteers at St. Joseph’s Hospice. Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Service will take place at St. Anne’s Anglican Church (Byron), 1344 Commissioners Road West, London on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in his name are asked to consider St. Joseph’s Hospice, 485 Windermere Road, London, ON N5X 2T1 or The Cancer Research Society, 355 Adelaide Street West, Ground Floor, Toronto, ON M5V 1S2 or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to A. Millard George Funeral Home, 519-433-5184. Online condolences, memories and photographs shared at www.amgfh.com

I was so sad to hear Geoff has passed away. He was a wonderful neighbor to my parents … always quick with a smile and a joke. I will miss him dearly, as I know many people will!!
Geoffrey’s obituary captured well the loving man he was.
Geoffrey was also a good nephew and cousin, dependable, funny in a quiet way, very easy to get along with.
His interest in the MacClement family tree took him further into our shared roots than I would have the time or patience for, and his strong connection with Dad’s cousin, Mac (MacClement) Freeman was cherished by the wider family.
Dear Linda,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I only knew Geoff at London Central where he known as a great guy and a good athlete. He was always kind and respectful to everyone. RIP Geoff
Mr.Thomas was a very kind teacher, a wonderful friend, and a cute grandpa. I regret badly that I didn’t attend the anniversary of LIA last year to meet him. Mr.Thomas will always be loved and remembered. Deep condolence??
