Unexpectedly on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Dearness Home, John Barber in his 77th year. Brother of Ted Barber and brother-in-law of the late Gina Barber (2017). John will be missed by Louise Moorhouse, his many cousins and their families and his extended family. He was a Contract Bridge Life Master as a teenager and in his 20’s he built and sold his own computers and installed networks in businesses. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 1-3 pm at the A. John will be sadly missed by his brother Ted. John and Ted have been loving brothers over the years, providing daily support to each other. John’s presence will be missed by friends of the Barber family at the many festive “Barberques”. He was a kind man.

I have many fond memories of John. I remember as a kid how he would tease me. Later he would visit us numerous times in Scarborough because he was there to play in bridge tournaments at the Royal York. I also fondly remember him and Aunt Mary visiting me in Naples Florida when I was working on the hotel design there and also going to Lake Erie to swim.

With fond remembrances of John at the bridge table so many years ago, in the 60’s. “wasted days and wasted nights”. John was a bit quirky, but fun to be with and brilliant at the table.
