My family moved in beside Art and Nancy in 1976. Art was the first person to come over and welcome us to the neighborhood. Our boys regularly swam in his pool and when I had finished cutting my grass I would be invited over for a glass of Art’s homemade wine. Art was never without a smile. The neighborhood lost a wonderful gentleman.
To all the Ferris family
Just like to say what a pleasure it has been to meet Art and all his family. He gave me a wonderful, intelligent and caring husband. Thank you Art.
They are together now forever.

To Arts family.
I am so sorry to hear of Art’s passing. We grew up on Winblest. We all ran in and out of each other’s homes and gardens. Our parents allowed the fun! After we all grew up and moved away, far and near, I so enjoyed going across the street and visiting with Art. We talked about his birds and garden, all of his and mine ! From the dancing to the motorcycle ! So delightful ! There was not a family in the subdivision that didn’t enjoy his visits when tv tubes failed ! My warmest condolences to you all. Thank you Art for your life. As a boy, I watched, fascinated and influenced, as you created wonderful things with electronics. I watched as you “made things” .. not just bought things. It was all not lost on me: maybe I learned: “I can do that!” in those days.
As a boy, I remember an intercom set that you built for Barry that we all played with; OMG how great was that back in about 1958 (i’m guessing) all led me to a lifetime successful career in communications and doing things that feel interesting and fun to this day. Its nice how your inspiration persists. Lovely man – Peter

Dear Art’s family
Art was one of those people that left a footprint on your heart. He was a kind generous man and when we look across the road to his old homestead we will always remember him.
May heaven have music because you know he will be dancing and singing.
