MITCHELL, Ed….
Peacefully at home, on Saturday, September 16, 2017, Edward Mitchell in his 71st year. Husband of Barb. Loving father of Jeff, Greg and daughter-in-law Laura. Irreplaceable grandpa Eddie of Phillip, Christina, Jack, Jakob and Kayla. Eldest son of Peter and Christine Mitchell. Dear brother of Agnes, Helen, Christine, Jeanette, John, Robert and Charlie. Will be fondly remembered by his extended family, friends and his fishing buddies. Ed was a kind, generous soul who will be missed by everyone who knew him. He immigrated to Canada from Scotland in 1966 sponsored by Ken and Marian Stratford of Oakland. Ed was an entrepreneur and spent over 30 years in the custom framing business. Known as a MacGyver to many, he was a jack of all trades and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 7-9 pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 11 am in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 180-633 Colborne Street, London, ON N6B 2V3. A quiet neighbour with kind eyes and a gentle smile, he will be missed. Our kids knew him as Mr. or Grandpa Ed and thought very highly of him.
Praying for his beautiful family, that you will experience God’s comfort as He surrounds you with His everlasting love.
so very sorry Barb, boys and family to hear of Ed’s passing. I worked for Ed at Wall St framing years ago. He was a very kind man and I know he would be a wonderful grandfather.
