Mum, you were ‘one of a kind’. A feisty, hardworking, fun loving lady. A great friend to many people that knew you. A mother who did her very best for her children. I am remembering a pink and grey plaid cotton skirt that you made Marg and I and the doll cradle out of an 11qt basket one Christmas. You truly have had an amazing life and I wish that we would have realized when we were younger, the need to get your family stories from you. A refugee from Latvia to Palestine, a war bride for UK to Canada and a farm wife in Ontario, not to mention your retirement in Montserrat. You did it all mum with a smile. I think that you will be famous for your smile. It was always there. I am going to miss you mum.

My condolences, especially to Jan and Audrey. After 40 years I still remember that feistyness. I had no idea of all that history that made her life so complete and adventurous.
