FAIRBAIRN, Doris….
Peacefully at the Dearness Home on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Leslie David Fairbairn. Cherished mother of Dianne Walker and her late husband Milton (2014) of London and Bruce Fairbairn and his wife Wanda of Mission, B.C. Proud grandma of Ryan and his wife Katherine of Calgary and the late Graham Walker (2003), Laura Walker and her husband Mike of Windsor and Steven and Sara Fairbairn of B.C. Special great-grandma of Caitlyn Leslie Walker and Quentin Milton Walker. Sister-in-law to Betty Fairbairn of Kitchener and Verna Blackler of St. Mary’s. Predeceased by her sister, Alice Henry (2014) and her husband Harold (2014) of London, and her brother Burns Blackler (2005). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Special thank you to the Nurses, PSWs and staff in the Pinegrove neighbourhood at the Dearness Home for their compassion, respect and comfort while caring for mom. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 1-2 pm at Elmwood Avenue Presbyterian Church, 111 Elmwood Avenue East, London, ON N6C 1J4 with the Funeral Service being held at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elmwood Avenue Presbyterian Church/Capital Projects Fund, or Salthaven Wildlife Rehab Centre, P.O. Box 601, Mt. Brydges, ON N0L 1W0. A. Aunt Doris was a gracious, skilled, hard-working lady with unbelievable energy. She devoted her life to her family, friends and church. My sincere sympathy to Dianne, Bruce and families.
So sorry for your loss Diane. I have used and still use many of your mom’s recipes from the church cookbook I got from you. Thinking of you.
