So many laughs Jim. Thanks for being that guy that always made fun of me, always pushed my buttons and never thought life should be taken to serious. I won’t meet another like you. God Bless my friend. Rest easy.

Jim and I first met in 1980 at Jean Monteith and Associates. We hit it off right away and remained good friends as well as working associates. His sense of humour was one of a kind and we bantered back and forth as friends often do. I can’t express the loss that I feel and the desire of being in his company. He will sorely be missed by everyone who crossed his path and me especially. I can only hope if ever in his situation that I could be as courageous as we all know he was during his illness. Rest in peace Jim till we’ll meet again my dear friend. To Rita and Jim’s family please accept our deepest sympathy, Randy and Jessie

Incredibly difficult to find the words to express the sense of loss that Jim’s passing means to me, our community and our industry. I will truly miss our long conversations about work and life. Your strength over this past year was incredible and all the while still looking to assist others. I wish I could have found a meaningful way to convey to you how much you will me missed Jim, as a colleague, mentor, and friend. May you enjoy your eternal “cruise” into the sunset, with the tunes cranked and the window down. Rest in piece my friend. My deepest condolences to Rita and your entire family
Cheers, Dave

Every passing makes me sad but some of them penetrate deeper into the heart and this is the case for me with Jim. We met on a couple of occasions early on in my first term as councillor and an immediate and warm rapport seemed to be established. I inquired about his health when it was waning and remembered him in my prayers. I feel like London has lost a friend who was very knowledgable about her past. I am sure he will be missed greatly by family.

Jim. While the issues of growth and development in a City like London are often complex and divisive, you taught us all how to stay calm, be respectful and be tenacious in our collective efforts to make a better city. Thank you so much for being a great teacher and a relentless supporter of our community.

Good friends don’t come along very often. You Jim, were one of them. With your intellect and ability to speak softly but with authority and your vast knowledge… well it will be sorely missed in this city. My thoughts and prayers go out to all Jim’s Friends and family. The city has lost a wonderful advocate. Rest in peace my friend

So very sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. Our families were great friends when we were children. I remember drives all over the countryside with his mom. We were also in Air Cadets together. He will be greatly missed.
