Blake Fewster, known mostly to me as Grumpa, was warm and welcoming when I married his grandson Brent Fewster and became a part of the family. He always made an effort to include me, even though he had so many beloved grandchildren. We will miss you Blake. Rest in peace.
So sorry for your loss, he was a very kind and lovely man. We have some very fun memories of time spent with he and Jo. Our thoughts are with all of you. Love Sharlene & Bruce
I wish to express my sincere condolences to the Fewster family, and in particular to Blake’s wife Jo. As a direct result of Blake’s interest in me and my career, I enjoyed a wonderful 15 years as a lawyer and officer at London Life and it’s related companies. Blake was a mentor and valued friend throughout and I am indebted to him. I vividly and fondly recall particularly mini vacation time spent with Blake and Jo following July board meetings in St John and Edmonton, as well of course, innumerable memorable interactions with him throughout my years at London Life. Rest in Peace.
My Grumpa, Blake Fewster, was one of the most intelligent, faith led people I know, reading lots of information, watching CNN, listening to CBC, attending and supporting St James as often as he could. I was so fortunate to grow up in the house across the street from Nana and Grumpa. I love you Grumpa and am so happy you’re at peace now! We’ll raise many glasses in your honour!???
We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Blake Fewster, a past president and respected leader of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA).

Regards.

Liz and I were distressed to hear of Blake’s passing and we pass on our condolences to Jo and the Fewster family. Blake was a good friend and an encouraging boss for part of the 16 years I was at London Life. I’m afraid he shook his head from time to time over the public relations programs that I presented to him. He had a wry sense of humor and a ready grin that made you feel good to be in the same room. I took particular pleasure in working with Blake in his writing and publication of “London Life — A Look Back” in 1998. A gentleman has left us.
My sincere condolences to the Fewster family. I saw Blake often at London Life and will always remember his wit and good nature. He will be missed.
Our thoughts go out to all the family on your loss. Cherish the memories and the teachings from a wonderful father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.
As a fellow London Lifer,I frequently touched base with Blake. He excelled as a ‘people’ person in addition to his significant actuarial strengths. My wife Dorothy and I extend our sympathy to all family members Richard Low
My heartfelt sympathies to you Jo and to your family. Many happy memories of the fun times with Blake and the gang on the London Life Operating Committee at the Ben Miller Gatherings and other London Life occasions.
We were saddened to learn of Mr. Fewster’s passing. He was such a strong presence for all of you. As you mourn, you will celebrate a life well lived. Our thoughts are with you. Denise and Ron
Ruth and I wish to offer Jo and the Fewster family our condolences. We have fond memories of trips to Arowhon and the Shaw festival made more enjoyable by his warmth and humour
I was one of the students in the summer of 1961 at London Life where Blake was the actuary handing out assignments. I remember his kind leadership to this day.
