I had the pleasure of working with Jane at Locke’s. Deepest condolences to her family. She was a treasure. I’m blessed to have known her.
My dear friend, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your best friend, and Jonathan’s Mom…Jane will be greatly missed by so many people whose lives she has touched over the years. In music, education, and in life she has left her mark and will never be forgotten. Knowing she has arrived in God’s kingdom does not make the missing her go away, but you know one day you will be united again. I am sending you all the love and support I can as you journey this next chapter. xox
My wife and I were saddened to here of Jane’s passing. Such a great spiritual presence with her music and leadership. We shall miss her and all that she contributed in her service to her lord.
Deepest condolences to the family of Ms. Lam, from the Helkaa family.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Jane’s family. It was a pleasure to have had the opportunity to work with jane at locke’s and a honour to have known her . You will be missed by many.
Songster Leader par excellence, band mate, piano teacher for our children, musical therapist, friend – so many (and more) titles for a very special person. We will miss Jane for her smile, her ‘snort’ when she laughed and got me into trouble (!), her warmth, and her enthusiastic celebration of life and faith. She has seen Jesus and been reunited with those who have gone before but will be missed here. We anticipate being part of that reunion some day.
On behalf of the Church Council at First-St Andrew’s United Church we wish to extend our condolences to John Lam and his family. Every year we enjoy the music of the Citadel Band at our Anniversary service. We love John and the band and we wish to express our sorrow for his loss.
We are so saddened for your family. We are sending our deepest condolences and will be praying for you all at this difficult time.
I would like to share my memories and reflections of my good friend Jane. My friend for life! Jane and I met in University but knew of one another through our piano teacher. The day we finally met we became the best of friends. We were referred to in the music circles and Melody and Harmony because we were always together. There are so many shared and wonderful memories that I have that I cannot share them all.
In the early years, we had a musical group with my sister Debbie called “Renewal” . We played for Sunday morning worship at countless churches in Windsor, and many weddings. We vacationed together in Florida, hung out at the Bruner cottage in the summers, learned to play various instruments together and always laughed and “snorted” as we eventually accomplished some level of skill on each one !
In later years, we welcomed our children into the world, sharing mom stories and love for these precious gifts in our lives.
When Jane moved from Windsor to work for the Salvation Army, our friendship continued, although it was more difficult to get together. I was thrilled when Jane called me with the news of meeting the love of her life. John, she waited many years for you. I am so grateful that she was able to have the love that she so deserved! She beamed when she spoke of John and Johnathon, her little family. She was never so happy!
We continued to meet for coffee and lunches during this past decade, I was grateful for e-mail and text messages. I was able to bring my school band to play at Janes school for several years. It gave me a chance to see the changes in Johnathon and watch him grow into a confident , talented and polite young man,
Jane always commented that our friendship was so easy, always continued where we left off. It was a blessing to have a friend that I could confide in and laugh with about anything, I will deeply miss my dear friend but I will see you again and we will pick up where we left off as we always have.
My deepest and heartfelt sympathy to John, Johnathon and the Bruner Family from The Brew and Fitzpatrick Families.
Mrs Lam was a wonderful and special person. I will miss seeing her at school. I loved her personality and her smile! She will always have a place in my heart ??
Jane has enriched the lives of so many. Her gift of music was shared with others and she has influenced the lives of others. My prayer is for the live that you have shared and the memories you hold will keep her spirit close. My thoughts and prayers

On behalf of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, I want to say how sorry we are to hear of Jane Lam’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with John and the family.
Dear John and Jonathan, we were shocked and saddened to hear of Jane’s passing. We first met Jane at Silver Birches and Twin Ponds music camps. Everyone there just loved her. She was indeed a beautiful woman and friend. Whenever we met her, she greeted us with a beautiful smile and hug. Words cannot express the feelings we have for you at this time, but our loss is heaven’s gain and she is now singing God’s praises with the angels in heaven. May you find strength in God, comfort in His Word and healing in His presence. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you in the days to come. God bless you, Cal and Edna.
It is always with sadness when one of our Sister or Bro is promoted to Glory.
There is a much better place that awaits us all, and just thing of the home coming which will be very very soon.May the Peace of OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST continue to guide us all and may we always keep looking up for soon we all will be going home.

What a great loss, to anyone, who had the privilege of knowing her. She was my piano teacher, as a child and one of my very favourite people. Sing with the angels, Jane. You will be deeply missed.
I was so sad to hear about Jane. She was truly a marvellous woman who inspired so many educators and children. Her legacy of leadership will live on in so many people
She will be missed by so many. John and Jonathan – she will also live within you forever.
I was sorry I wasn’t able to attend the celebration of life. Hers was truly a life worth celebrating.

Dear John, Jonathan, & Family ~
We are so very saddened & sorry to hear of the passing of your dear wife & mother. Please accept our sincere condolences on behalf of our family. Nicole & Rachel absolutely love having you teach them music/guitar & lead them in the Glendale Band John. They are heartbroken to hear of your loss. During a conversation we had following a musical event at Glendale, I was overjoyed to learn that you are a Christian family & actively involved with the Salvation Army. It is our shared faith in Jesus that will bring hope & healing in the days ahead. The knowledge that Jane lives on in God’s Kingdom brings both assurance of eternal life in Heaven & peace in the midst of this storm. May you find comfort in knowing that Jane is in the arms of Jesus & reunited with those who have passed in faith before her. You & your family are in our thoughts & prayers. We’re praying that God will provide you with His peace, comfort, love, hope, & strength as you navigate through this difficult time. Be encouraged that you will one day be reunited with the love of your life, & we will all be singing praises to our Lord & Savior. May you be encouraged by the Word of our Lord in Philippians 4:7, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
With Love,
Kristal, Craig, Nicole, & Rachel Pitter
My deepest condolences to Jonathan and his family on your loss.
to John and family,
our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your family. May you be strengthened by the support of your friends, family and by your music and your faith. Blessings to you.
I met Jane very briefly at the Southern Territory of The Salvation Army’s Territorial Music Institute last summer. She was to be the TMI Chorus leader, which was the chorus I belonged to. When she started having health issues there, I, along with the hundreds of people there, prayed for her. And I didn’t stop praying when I returned home. I even got my mother, who is a wonderful prayer warrior, and my “aunt” on the prayer for her recovery. I never stopped praying. Never. On a Thursday Night, my Bandmaster at my corps, who is dear friends with the Lam’s, announced at the end of rehearsal about Jane’s Promotion to Glory. My heart sank and yet rejoiced. I know not of the full extent of her health after TMI, nor do I need to know, and it took me all this time to write this. But know that her family will forever be in my prayers, even though I had only known her for a few days, I felt like she was a long time mentor to me. She overflowed with God’s love and she truly touched my life.
