Obituary
KING, Lori… After a lengthy battle, Lori King (nee Summers) passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 53 on Saturday, July 23, 2016. Beloved mother of Tiffany King. Daughter of Gloria Summers and the late Joe “Bubba” Summers. Sister of Michelle Krickovic (George), Wayne Wickens, Joe Summers (Karen Keating), Christine Lee (John), Jeremy Summers (Sarah Scott). Aunt of Shannon, Kara, Kayne, Andrew, Makenzie, Jessica, Victoria, David and Lily. Loved and missed by her special aunts Elizabeth Mancina, Patricia Bryant (Joe) and Jeannine Kirchoff (Mel) and many cousins, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her son Nicholas “Nick” King and her sister V. Roni Summers Wickens. She was a lover of the Toronto Blue Jays, especially Edwin Encarnacion, and the Detroit Red Wings. Lori graduated from Courtice Secondary School in 1981, and grew up in Hampton, Ontario. Lori was a resident of Indianapolis, Indiana, for almost a decade with her two children. She was very involved with her children’s schools, even substitute teaching at her son’s schools. She was a huge community helper and volunteered when she could. Lori enjoyed reading, gardening, spending time with her family, and baking; her butter tart recipe was everyone’s favourite, and will be missed as much as Lori. She was the Queen of Tarts and her banana bread was a close second. Cremation has taken place. In Lori’s memory donations to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, 600-60 St. Clair Avenue East, Toronto, ON M4T 1N5 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 123 St. George Street, London, ON N6A 3A1 would be appreciated. To Lori’s family and especially Tiffany. I was so shocked and deeply saddened to hear the news. Lori was so uplifting in spirit. She was always quick to smile or laugh. She just loved to have a good time and make people happy. I admired her for her uncompromising devotion to you (Tiffany) and Nick. She loved you both so much and always put her family first. I wish I could hug you now Tiffany, but sending you a virtual hug now. Your mom will not be forgotten and will be remembered for her smile, her laugh, her wit and her positive and powerful spirit.
You will be sadly missed. I didn’t get to see you over the past many years but I have very fond memories of your kindness and loving nature. In every picture your smile was as bright as the sky. I hope that peace has found you. Forever missed.
I will always have fond memories of Lori. Loved spending time w her & Tiff & Nick when you they cam with their mom to the office. Being a MOM was most rewarding to her. Working w/her in Indy was great!! Always went above & beyond!! Her smile lit up the room. She was the sweetest lady!! I’ll never forget her!! Keep in touch Tiff????
Dear Lori
So many memories where do I begin… meeting you on richmond st e was the beginning of our zany antics. From raising our kids together, to birthday party fun, Christmas fire works , late night card parties, baking up a storm, gardening until we were sore, to having babies at the same time. From the moment we met we clicked, laughed and giggle until our stomachs hurt. Together we pulled each other up, you Lori were the epitome of positive! Your Family was your strength, your children Tiffany and Nick the loves of your life. You know Lori you always called me a weeping Nelly and true to form yes I have been doing a lot, but they are a mixed of happy & sad tears for you. You are free now, no more pain, it wasn’t an easy decision to leave but I understand, so until we meet again.. I LOVE YOU STELLA
Tiffany, I’m so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing; know that you are in my thoughts. Your mom always had a bright smile and was very easy to talk with.
