KING, Mary Catherine… Peacefully with family by her side at University Hospital on Monday, July 11, 2016 Mary Catherine King passed away in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Patrick King (1974). Dear mother of Bernice Hammond and Diane King. Also loved by 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Loretta Sparrow. Predeceased by her daughter Barbara Lacey, her parents Joseph and Helen Deveaux, her sisters Lucy Martindale, Elsie Dawson and Bernice McRoberts, her brothers Ernest, John and Ivan Deveaux. Also predeceased by her brother-in-law Joseph Sparrow and her son-in-law George Hammond. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the VON Personal Support Workers for their care as well as the University Hospital Acute Care T2 Nurses and Doctors. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. George Catholic Church, 1164 Commissioners Road West, London on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 10 am. Followed by entombment in Holy Family Mausoleum – St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society 123 St. George Street, London, ON N6A 3A1, or the London Health Sciences Foundation 747 Base Line Road East, London, ON N6C 2R6. I worked closely with Sherry King for many, many years and she spoke often and very fondly of her Nana. Even though I never met Mary King, I feel I knew her through Sherry. My sincere condolences to the entire family.
