SAMWORTH, George….
Peacefully in his sleep at Parkwood Hospital, on Thursday, June 9, 2016, George T. Samworth in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Margaret A. (Boa) Samworth (2014). Loving father of Susan Foster (Donald Noble) of Thamesford, Peggy Samworth (Dan Rammage) of Brunner, Nelson Samworth (Susan) of Bayfield and Tom Samworth (Angie Rice) of Orangeville. Proud grandfather to all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Kaye Tucker (the late George) and Jean Fontaine (Maurice). Also missed by his nieces and nephews. George was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Byron – Springbank Branch No. 533. He was a proud Legion member for 70 years. The family would like to thank the staff at Parkwood Hospital – Western Counties Wing for their kind care and support. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of George’s life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Byron – Springbank Branch No. 533, 1276 Commissioners Road West, London, on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 1-3pm. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation – Parkwood Institute – Veterans Care, Main Building Room B2-147, 550 Wellington Road, London ON N6C 0A7. Over our years as neighbours, we got to know George and Marg very well. They were among the kindest and gentlest of souls. We need more people like them, not fewer. They will be remembered fondly always.
