Dr. Robert Moore Grainger

GRAINGER, Dr. Robert Moore, DDS, MScD, DDPH, RCDC ….. Peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, Dr. Robert Grainger in his 98th year. Beloved husband of Norma (Thomas) Grainger for 47 years. Loving father of Patricia Grainger of Ottawa and Jennifer Grainger of London. Grandfather of Jonathon (Kyla), Jeremy and Michael and great-grandfather of Kira, Nathan, Elliot and Piper. Predeceased by his son Donald Grainger and his sisters Ruth Grainger and Helen Wilson. Dr Grainger graduated in Dentistry, University of Toronto, in 1943, practiced for a few years, and then returned to University for further degrees in statistics and epidemiology. His career then took him into the field of dental research at various Universities, and at the Institute of Dental Research, NIH, in Washington, D.C. He also worked as a consultant to several industries and organizations, notably the World Health Organization of the U.N. for a number of years. The family thanks Dr. Cejic and staff (Byron Family Medical Centre), the CCAC, and the staff of St. Elizabeth and the VON for their wonderful care of Dr. Grainger over the past few months. Friends will be received by the family one hour prior (9:30-10:30am) to the funeral service being conducted on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 10:30am, at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London.
