GOODBODY, John…….
John Stephenson Goodbody of London, Ontario slipped away Thanksgiving Monday, October 12, 2015 in his 83rd year. He was surrounded by the love and adoration of family. John was the treasured husband of Marilyn (Ellis), predeceased by their precious son Douglas John (2008); beloved Pops to Cynthia (Ken) Bussey; Beverley Wray; David (Maggie) Wray; Nancy (Gerry) McMullen. He was loved so very much by his grandchildren Marc-André and Laura Kim, Kevin and Alison, Ashley and Kylie and Brendan; Brother to Hudson (Gail) Goodbody; Uncle to Carol (David) Cutway, Stephen (Lynne) Goodbody and Ann (Tim) Sheahan; as well to other extended family members. His interest and passion was GOLF: the game, the courses (most especially Highland); but of greatest significance, the friends. John was the last surviving member of Highland’s famous Dirty Dozen; if that doesn’t ring a bell with you… check the club’s history and ask about ‘The Shack’. ‘Gooders’ lived his life without any pretense, but with a light-heart, a giving spirit and the generous heart of a giant. Thank you to all his friends and cohorts who over the years helped to create memories that John told entertaining tales about, much to his and everyone’s amusement… ‘Do It All Johnny’ sure did it All, with his extraordinary disposition and unique personality that made everyone feel loved and special!!! Here’s to you Pops… We dropped our tears in the ocean today; even if they could be found, we’ll never stop loving you! A Celebration of John’s life will be held at Highland Country Club, 279 Commissioners Rd. E., London, Ontario N6C 2T4, Sunday, October 18th from 1:00 – 4:00pm. Cremation and inurnment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, 442 Adelaide Street, N., London, ON N6B 3H8. A. Millard George Funeral Home, entrusted with arrangements 519-433-5184. Online condolences, memories and photographs shared at www.amgfh.com

Sorry to hear that Mr. Goodbody has passed away. He was a good friend of our dad Bruce Griffeth. Many shared stories about the “shack” and other fun times. Dad would say they had lots of laughs!
Take care
Marilyn,
Our sincere condolences to you and the entire Goodbody/Wray/Ellis/Runciman clan – John’s death is a huge loss to us all – those of us who knew and loved Uncle John. He and my Dad (your brother, Donnie) and I shared John’s passion for GOLF – in all its forms – playing, viewing, discussing, arguing, anything to do with Golf!!!!!
John taught me how to lisp appropriately and in good taste – he was ssssssuper and I loved him – gonna miss him and his quick wit and tender looks and his love for you and your family!
Lovingly,
Donna and “Pistol Pete” Ellis
PS. And thanks for the dead fish on my manifold at our wedding – your memory will live on with us forever, Uncle John!
