Obituary
ANGOOD, Donna….
It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Donna (Groat) Angood (in her 76th year) on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Victoria Hospital, London. Beloved wife of Jim Angood for 49 years. Much loved mom of Kerri-Lynn Edmondson (Mike) of Markham, Kathy-Jo Brine (Jamie) of Belmont and Jamie Angood (Sarah) of London. Proud grandma of TJ, Payton, Ava, Liam, Braedin and Britlynn. Dear sister of Lois Trimble (Ralph) of Ballantrae. Also survived by her brother-in-law Albert Angood (Annette) of Chatham, sister-in-law Linda Burrill (Glen) of Ingersoll and dear friend Jeannie Davies. Predeceased by her granddaughter Molly (2009). Donna will be lovingly remembered by her family and many friends. Donna was a teacher with the Thames Valley District School Board for over 35 years. She enjoyed scrapbooking and sang in many choirs, including Earle Terry Singers, Westview and Central Baptist Churches. She loved to shop, knit, travel and read but most of all her biggest joys were her precious grandchildren and spending time with her family. A special thank you to family and friends for your support, Drs. Sugimoto, Welch and Malik, the medical and support staff at Victoria Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2015 at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London where the funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 11 a.m.. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the London Regional Cancer Program – Ovarian Research, 800 Commissioners Road East, London, ON N6A 5W9. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mrs. Angood. She was my teacher, I believe in grade 4, when she went from being my favourite Miss Groat to Mrs. Angood. It has been many years and I still remember her fondly.
I sang with Donna in the same section of the Earle Terry Singers. I’ll always remember her lovely smile and her engaging personality. She’ll be greatly missed. Sincere condolences to her family.
I send my condolences to Donna’s family. I was a colleague of Donna’s at Arthur Ford P.S. in the mid ’80s and remember her as a thoughtful teacher who also very much enjoyed having the time to spend with her family. Janice
As old neighbours from Galloway Crescent and Arthur Ford Public School, Donna guided me through many years of childhood with Kerri-Lynn sharing many school lunches, summer vacations and camping together. Donna was like a second mom to me; she taught me how to sew and crochet during my “Brownie & Girl Guide” years. She will always have a special place in my heart.
Our deepest sympathy to Jim and family ,Donna was a lovely lady and to my parents Reg And Yvonne Cooper She was very special person
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time . Thinking of you Jamie , Sarah and your family .
Our deepest sympathy to Jim and family ,Donna was a lovely lady and very special to my mom and dad Reg and Yvonne Cooper
Donna was always laughing whenever we were together at Groat family gatherings. I remember that right from when I was very young and we’d go to London or Waterdown up until the last reunion we’d had in 2011.
She fought this illness long & hard & with dignity.
Please accept our most heartfelt condolences – Jim & Jamie, Kathy and Kerri-Lynn and their families and to Lois & Ralph; all my family.
Jim, we think of you and your Family at this difficult time. Donna loved you all.
She was my Cousin. I am a little bit older then Donna. .
Our family would visit when we could, because we lived 2-3 hours from London when we were younger .
When we did go for a visit, that was a treat for us. We enjoyed the fun, and good food. Now Dave and I live close to Ottawa .
May these few words send memories, and moments of peace to you all .
We send you all Heartfelt Sympathy.
David and Pauline Hammond. (Groat)
I will miss Donna’s smile. For months now, I’ve missed seeing her and Jim sitting across the street on the porch. It was my intent to come to the service to offer my condolences in person but my uncle passed away on the 9th. His visitations and service were the same as Donna’s You know where I am if I can be of any help. With sincere sympathies, Carleana
Dear family, my heart goes out to you on your loss. May knowing that she is as if asleep, resting peacefully, conscious of nothing at this time be a true comfort to you. Ecclesiastes 9:5, Luke 8:52. And may your hearts be lifted some by the promise that she will be among those who “…hear his voice and come out …”of the memorial tombs during the resurrection time. John 5:28,29. May these thoughts comfort your hearts at this time and reassure you that you will have Donna with you again.
