ROY, Margaret…

Passed peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at St. Joseph’s Hospice, London, on Friday, June 5th 2015. Margaret (Shields) Roy of London in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late John R. Roy (2006). Cherished mother of Mary Anne (Russell) Greenbeck, Susan Roy (Jay Rankin), Jane Roy (Glen Pearson) and Jennifer (Bill) Bellmore. Dear sister of Ted Shields and family. Loved by her grandchildren Jim, Jonah, John, Ater, Sam, Nicole, Abuk, Achan, Max and Madeline and her step-grandchildren Kathy, Kristy, Jordan and Kim and great-grandchild Anna Marie. Predeceased by her sister Helen (James) Hughes. Greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Margaret graduated with a B.A. in 1950 from the University of Western Ontario and was a teacher for over 30 years at Blakelock High School in Oakville and Banting S.S. in London. The family would like to express special thanks to the caring staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice, London. Friends will be received by the family 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9th 2015 at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. The funeral service will be conducted at St. George’s Anglican Church, 227 Wharncliffe Road North, London, on Wednesday, June 10th 2015 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Canon Dr. Timothy G. Connor officiating. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Choir Bursary Fund, St. George’s Anglican Church, 227 Wharncliffe Road North, London, ON N6G 2B6 or London & Area Food Bank, 926 Leathorne Street, London, ON N5W 2X9.
