DeKay, Eldon….

Peacefully surrounded by family at Victoria Hospital, London, on Saturday, May 30, 2015, Eldon DeKay in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Grace (Bobier) DeKay for 58 years. Cherished father of David (Mary), Paul (Angela), Bill, Michael (Christine), Dan, and Robert (Karen). Loving grandfather of Joel Elliott (Jenn), Bethany Elliott (Alex West), Danielle, Mark, William, Julia Theriault (Jon-Paul), Sarah, Ethan, Luke and Carter and great-grandfather of Eleanor. Dear brother of Bev (Jane), George and brother-in-law of Doris Holding (Roly). Missed by several nieces, nephews, cousins. The family would like to thank the staff at University and Victoria Hospital for their care and compassion. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 11am at Stoney Creek Baptist Church, 2225 Highbury Avenue North, London, ON N5X 4A4. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London.     Eldon you will very much be missed. My son Eldon thought it was really neat that there was another man at our church with the same name. I will always remember the firm handshake Sunday morning as you and your wife greeted at the back doors. God bless you and rest in peace our dear friend. We love you!

    Ifirst met Eldon in 1964 he was the most honourable hard working man i ever met He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.My condolences to his wife and family Bev and Jane. Ernie

    I am saddened to learn of the passing of Eldon DeKay whom I first met at London Central High School. Sixty years later he still recalled the names and qualities of many of our friends from those days.
    I knew Eldon to be a bright and gentle straight-shooter of whom his family can be justly proud.

    All of the DeKay family has been in our thoughts and prayers since we heard of Eldon’s enterning hospital and then also his passing on to the presence of the Lord. Such a lovely man will be dearly missed. What good memories we have of the sincere interest and love shown to us and our family any time we were together with the DeKay family!
