HAZELWOOD, Shirley….
It is with heavy hearts that Karen Guest (Al), Kirk Hazelwood (Sue) and Dana Hazelwood (Jules) said “See You Later” to their beloved Mom, Shirley (O’Hara) Hazelwood at her home on Friday, October 10, 2014, in her 79th year, when she went to be with her Lord. She fought a forty-nine year battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis and had many physicians care for her through those years. Our deepest thanks to Dr. J. MacLean, Dr. N. LeRiche, Dr. P. Teefy, many nurses and the VON Palliative Care team for their loving care and compassion. A special thanks to the team at Complex Care Unit (Dr. E. Thurgood, Sue Jones RT) at Parkwood Hospital, who cared for Mom over the last five months and assisted her on her journey back to her home. Loving grandmother of Tamara (David), Chris, Jason (Kim), Terri (Brad), Ty, Tom, Jordan and great-grandmother of Jack, Kayla, Ryan, Josh, Madison and great-great-grandmother of Carson. She is predeceased by her husband Ralph, son Kevin and brother George O’Hara. She will be deeply missed by her sister Frederica “Teddy” Stewart, brother Wayne O’Hara (Dawna) and many nieces and nephews. Will be missed by dear family friend Alma Cox. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. The celebration of Shirley’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 11 am, with Pastor Ron Baker officiating. Interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, London. Dear Karen and Family. I’m sending the warmest wishes to you with hopes that your memories bring smiles and comfort. Shirley always had a smile for me even in the most challenging times. What a special lady.
Karen: Kirk and I wish express our condolences to your family. I know how close you were to your Mom and how you cared so much for her. You are an amazing daughter who gave so much to her! She was a lucky lady to have you. I know you will miss her terribly.
May she rest in peace now that her long and hard fought journey has reached it’s destination. She will remain in the thoughts and hearts of many. With much love and prayers to you all, the DaCosta’s.
Karen, Kirk, Dana and family,
We are so sorry for your loss but know that your Mom is now with her Lord and reunited with family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Karen, Kirk and Dana. So very sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. I remember very well, the years that, she taught Sunday School and CYC while growing up in the Free Methodist Church. I will never forget the hymn that she taught us, “We’ve A Story to Tell to the Nation’s”.
And all the good times, Karen, that, I spent with you and your family growing up.
Randy, I, Jeffrey and Kelly, send you all our condolences at this time. May her memory bring smiles to your heavy hearts at this time.
