MAPES, Jean…..
Peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at University Hospital, London, Jean (Sharpe) Mapes in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late Bob Mapes (1975). Loving mother of Scott Mapes and his wife Melinda of London. Proud grandma of Robert Mapes. Predeceased by her parents Roland and Ella Sharpe. Jean enjoyed Nursing and working at Western Counties Wing from 1977 – 1995. She was proud to work with the Veterans and her colleagues. The family would like to thank the staff on the 4th floor of University Hospital, for their care and compassion of Jean. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family one hour prior (9:30-10:30 am) to the memorial service, being conducted in the chapel of the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London, on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 10:30 am. Private interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Sarnia. When I was head nurse at Western Counties Wing, Jean was one of my full-time nurses. Jean was personable and responsible. I am very sorry for your loss. I will always remember Jean with fondness.
