Obituary
BRUNTON, Dorothy Claire ….
Peacefully at Dearness Home, London on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, Dorothy Brunton in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Lorne Brunton. Loving mother of Bill (Cathy), Doug (Christine Pampel) and Ann (Robyn Harvey). Cherished grandmother of Andrew (Simone), Matthew (Dyane), Olivia Dewolf, and Zai Pitman. Proud great-grandmother of Cooper, Peyton, Hannah, Benjamin, and Holly. Born and raised in Windsor, Dorothy graduated from University of Toronto and worked as a teacher until her marriage. As a young bride, she moved to Sarnia. She had a passion for reading history and current affairs and for travelling to the places she studied. She enjoyed live theatre, her volunteer work with the IODE earning scholarship money for young women, and her involvement in the Sarnia Central United Church Allegro Group. Her greatest joy, however, was reserved for her family. Her interest and pride in each of us was encouraging and a gift we will always remember. Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society,123 St. George Street, London, Ontario N6A 3A1 would be appreciated. A. Dear Ann:
I was very sorry to read of your mother’s passing, and wanted to let you know that my thoughts are with you, Robin, Olivia, Zia and the rest of your family at this time. While I never met your mother, I learned a good deal about her from you during our days at the Children’s Museum front desk. I’m sure you will miss her, but will take comfort from your many memories of her.
With best wishes
Susan
