KIMBER, Fiona….

At home on Thursday, July 25, 2013, Fiona (Pursell) Kimber in her 91st year. Loving mother of Andrew Kimber and his wife Rita Kiriakis. Dear granny of Evan and Julia. Dear sister of Una Patrick and her husband the late Bill. Dear aunt of Janet Pursell and great-aunt of Lexy. Fiona was a strong and independent woman. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her dog. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Fiona’s life will be held in the chapel of the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 11am, with Reverend David R. Carrothers officiating. Private family interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, London. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to London Regional Cancer Program, 747 Baseline Road East, London ON N6C 2R6.     I worked with Fiona as a volunteer at St. Joseph’s Hospital. In fact, she trained me. She was a wonderful woman, very smart with great stories. Sincere sympathy.

    When I remember Fiona, I will always think of her with one of her dogs. How she loved them! My fondest is of seeing her walking down Oxford St. in her “Wellies” with her companion at her side. When we were kids she was always taking us on great adventures in the “Gremlin” to the beach and beyond. I will miss her quirky smile and unique way.

    I will always remember Fiona at Una’s place at some family festivity eager to hear about our children and our travels. She was always so jovial and her laugh was infectious!

    When I think of Fiona I always remembered Christmases at Grandma Una’s. I only ever saw Fiona at Christmas but it became a family tradition to always go and visit with her and Una and share our stories of the previous year over a delicious plate of homemade lasagna! She was always smiling and happy to listen, not to mention spoiling us with “Poppycock” snacks!

    I was very sorry to hear of Fiona’s passing. Please accept
    my sincere condolences. Through the years I have assisted Fiona with planning her adventures and have very fond memories of my visits with Fiona and Una. It was always a pleasure and I was very sad to hear that her earthly adventures have come to an end. May she continue her adventures in heaven.
