BROERE, Willy….
Suddenly at Victoria Hospital, London, on Saturday, February 23, 2013, Willempje “Willy” (Bouwmeester) Broere in her 88th year. Beloved wife of John Broere for 65 years. Cherished mother of Rick Broere (Linda), Henry Broere (Sandra), Betty Jackson (Keith) and John Broere (Gillian). Loving Oma of Trina, Andrew, Adam, Lisa, Nikki, Sunny, Michelle, Jen, Michael, Jason, Jeff, Shannon, Jamie, Roly and great-Oma of 15. Dear sister of Grietje van Almenkerk (the late Jan), Maartje van den Berge (Cor), Maria Sijens (the late Linze), Elizabeth Bouwmeester (Marinus), Pam van Wijk (the late Albert), Jan Bouwmeester (Annie), Nellie Arends (Siebren), Annie Heyblom (Joep) and Ed Bouwmeester (Rita). Predeceased by her brother Aart Bouwmeester, her sisters Riek van der Elst (Jan) and Lenie van Asch (the late Gerrit). Also missed by many nieces and nephews. Willy enjoyed knitting, painting and gardening. She was a very kind and generous person. Cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 11-1pm at Dutch Canadian Society Hall, 1738 Gore Road, London. Great Oma, I didn’t know you very well. But I still really miss you. I still have the necklace you gave me, probably in 2011. I remember your funeral. You didn’t want something sad so it was more of a gathering. But when it came time for speeches, a lot of people cried. I miss you.
