Tante Riet and Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I heard of the passing of Oom Piet. My sincere condolences for your loss. I fondly remember spending many visits with Tante Riet and Oom Piet. Oom Piet and you were always more than inviting and exceptional hosts to Brian, me and the kids. Memories of Oom Piet’s smile, laughter and generosity will be with me forever. Thinking of you, Tante Riet and your whole family at this very difficult time. My prayers are with you. Love, Marg
Lieve tante Riet en familie,
My sincere condolences. Not a surprise but still unexpected. I hope you are well. The memory of Oom Piet is such a lovely one, full of spirit, regardless all the challenges
of life.
Love Renske (Tiny and Dirk’s daughter)

We were so very fortunate to have visited Oom Piet just 3 weeks ago. He had come home from the hospital and greeted us, with a big grin and as always, with lots of questions too. He was always interested in the every day details of life. The Weerdenburg hospitality is well known. Our family was fortunate to have him as a life long friend and Our Oom Piet. Please know that our thoughts are with everyone who is celebrating his life today, just as we are celebrating it too. The children, Natalie and Nicholas came home yesterday and his life was remembered, situations were recalled with humour, and a few tears were shed again. A special Mother’s Day was spent with Oom Piet, Tante Riet and Rosemarie here on the farm just a couple of years ago. We have our memories to keep us company, thanks to Oom Piet
