GROOTJEN, Willempje “Willy”… Peacefully at her Home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, Willy Grootjen in her 82nd year. Loving wife of the late Wilhelmus “Bill” Antonius Grootjen. Dear mother of Jacob (Darlene) Grootjen, Theodorus “Ted” Grootjen and Ron Grootjen. Loved Oma of Jennie, Tyler, Scott, Kaylee, Jana and Tori. Dear sister of Zwaantje. Predeceased by her two sisters and one brother.
Willy was a volunteer at the Victoria Hospital gift shop for over 25 years. The family would like to express their thanks to the CCAC, and the VON Home Palliative Care Team and to all the members of her church.Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. The service will be conducted at the Pilgrim Canadian Reformed Church of London, 266 High Street , London on Thursday, February 9th at 11am with Reverend Reuben Bredenhof officiating. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London. In lieu of flowers, donations to the London Regional Cancer Program, 747 Baseline Road East, London, Ontario N6C 2R6 would be appreciated.     My sincere condolences with the passing of Willy. I knew her for many years when her and Bill resided on High Street, and always enjoyed speaking with them at the many church functions they attended. May her God and heavenly Father comfort you all with His Word and Spirit.
