Gerda and family,
We are very sorry to hear about the passing of Hans. He was quite a character. We had great times whenever we got together. We will miss his sense of humour and friendship very much.
My sincere condolences to Elfie and Walter, and to Gerda and her family. Hans was my stepfather when I was growing up in Montreal in the 1970s and 80s. I only found out yesterday that he passed away. I am truly sorry to hear about his passing, and sympathies are sent from my mother Linda Wagner as well.
Hans was a good man, a very hard worker, and an excellent soccer coach. Although I have not seen him or spoken to him since the late 1980s, I miss him a little bit more now that I know that he has passed. I have tried to find Hans over the past few years, and only recently was I able to find his burial announcement online.
If I could have said something to Hans in my adult life, I would have thanked him and told him that I’m doing well. I still love the game of soccer, which was Hans’ passion, and I know that he really enjoyed being my coach for so many years.
Dear Hans, thank you for being my dad and looking out for us. You are truly missed.
Sincerely,
Jordan S. Berson
