Marg and family:
Ernie has been a great family friend for so many years. His regular telephone calls to Mom were so appreciated by all of us. His dedication to his career and the Salvation Army in various ways is a tribute to his devotion to both. He is now free from his physical suffering. May your memories comfort you at this difficult time and may God’s peace be with you. Hugs from Gail and Grant
Ernie was both as friend and mentor. He was feisty, to be sure, but sincere and a joy to be with.
We will both miss him. Sincere condolences to Margaret and the families.

Margaret and Family,
Ernie held a special place in our lives. He and my late Mother, Irene Main (Pascoe) were great friends and both shared the love of the Salvation Army. We will miss Ernie’s love of life, his feistiness, and his loving smile. Sleep well Ernie.
So many wonderful memories flood back while working so briefly at the FREE PRESS and pleasant remembrances of CAPPAC,Short courses at Western and the trips to PPOC meetings in Toronto, what an unselfish mentor who worked so tirelessly for so many young greenhorns coming up.Thanks ERNIE! So sorry to hear of the passing of your father. May he rest in peace and may you get comfort of the fond memories you shared with your dad, during these emotional times.
Sincerely,

After climbing the three sets of stairs to where I would join in my First rehearsal with the Shrine Concert Band in July 2009. ,Ernie was one of the first persons that stood out. I must admit I felt a little intimidated. But, Ernie very quickley took me under his wing, and sitting in front of him playing my Sax, I could hear…his pure tones and an Ear for the Music. I was nervous that first day at practice, but with Ernie`s help and jockularities,he helped me greatly. I`m glad I was able to hear his LOW WELL TIMED SLIDES on His Trombone and glad that I was able to call him a Friend. I only wish I knew Him longer,..
To the family—My deepest sympathies are with you.I remember Mr. Lee when I attended the Salvation Army Citadel for Sunday school and church services in the 1960s and 70s and also at the new citadel from time to time with my dad, Austin. Take good care—sincerely Suzzette Patterson
