Please accept our deepest condolences. We were both very sad when we learned of Tom’s (Brownie’s) passing. We have very fond memories of our time spent working and socializing with such a great man. He will be truly missed.

To “Brownie’s” Family:
I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Tom in 1984 after transfering from Ottawa to Toronto. I was immediately made welcome by this exceptional law enforcement officer whose reputation was heralded by those who knew him better than I. Tom will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss.

Please accept my sincere condolences.
I attended Central Collegiate, with Tom, back in the 1950s. Despite me being 2 grades his junior,we played on the same bad hockey team. However, Tom excelled in football. He was a hero to many of us grade niners and well-liked by his peers. He will be missed.
Our thoughts are with you Peter and Brenda. Tom was a good man and he will be missed by many. We have a lot of good memories that we will cherish.
hugs to you both

Thinking about you at this time.
Tom was a good man.
Tom was and is still a legend. Many of us from Jarvis St.days have fond memories of him. He will always be alive in our reminiscences. My sympathy to all his family.
Brownie and I trained at Ottawa, Ontario in Troop 47 of The Royal Canadian Mounted Police from Jan to Nov. 1959.
After we graduated our paths never crossed again personally or professionaly, but periodically I would hear from his co-workers of his professionalsism and dedication to his work. Not at all surprising to me.
Regardless, the comraderie established during our trainign was everlasting. Cleaning kit, being on Parade – spit and shone to the nth degree. Brownie was always immpecabbly ‘turned out’.
We had to ‘tolerate’ and ride the hay burners for six months of our training. We were fortunate to have rode in the RCMP mounted escort for Queen Elizabeth II when she came to Canada to open the St. Lawrence Seaway with US President Dwight Eisehower. That ride went from the Governor General’s Residence to Parliament Hill and return, where she participated in a function in Parliament.
Later we rode in a mounted escsort again over the same route for the Installation of Gov-Gen Vanier.
Brownie was a good troop mate and friend, and will be missed. Our ‘ranks’ of Troop 47 are being slowly depleted.
God Bless you Brownie!
“May your travel with the tide, and have the wind at your back”.
My personal condolences to all the family. Stop and take some qiet time to talk to Brownie from time to time. HE WILL BE LISTENING AND WATCHING OVER YOU ALL.

My sincere sympathy to the Brown family. Was station in Kitchener. ON when ‘Brownie’ was there and dealt with him from Pakistan to Toronto when he was in Toronto Drugs. Probably the most informed and best Drug squad officer I ever met. A great guy who looked after his fellow workers. He will leave a large hole to fill among all of us who knew him. Remember him fondly.
Thanks
Don Pelley.
To Brenda,
You are a phenomenal woman and Tom enjoyed every second of his life with you.
To Peter your Dad was the greatest and I know he loved you very much.
My deepest condolences,
Donna and Family
Brenda – I only met Brownie once, but Dan has lots of fond memories from School. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this time of great sorrow. Sincerely, Jean and Dan Waide
Peter,
I’m so very sorry for the loss of your best friend.
Brenda – I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.
Tom was my first S/Sgt. that I worked with in Heroin Unit,
Toronto Drug Section, during the unforgettable 1980’s. He was a great boss and a good person. I am very saddened to hear about his death and I extend my deepest sympathy to all family members. He was definitely a legend and he will be missed by all. May he rest in peace and may God bless his family, friends and colleagues.
I was truly saddened to here of Tom’s passing. Tom was my mentor when I first arrived in T.D.S back in 1981 and he will be missed. He was a good person and a great drug cop. There are many “brownie stories” and they bring back fond memories…and a smile.
Brenda
I was shocked and saddened to learn from Marie that Tom had passed away. Leanne and I pass on our heart felt sympathy.
We were talking about Tom last Saturday as we were driving back from Sudbury and passed the ski hill north of Barrie. I wondered out loud if Tom would be on the hills again this winter, considering he had received encouraging news about his health early in his battle with cancer. I will always think of Tom every time I pass by that ski hill.
Brent
It is with heavy hearts that we send our most sincere condolences to Brenda, Peter and all Tom’s loved ones. TSK was a very special person to us and we feel quite blessed to have known and
worked with such an extraordinary man. The friendship that we developed remained strong over the years, even after we moved off in different directions. Tom Brown was a true professional, a drug enforcement legend and a truly funny guy. We have many fond memories of our time with Brownie, which we will cherish forever. We are proud alumni of the TDS “C” Unit of the 80’s and S/Sgt. TSK Brown was our leader. We will miss you friend and may you rest in peace.
Sincerely,
Ann & Garry Doyle

To Peter Brown and family:
We lived in Kitchener when your dad was transferred and promoted to Sgt. and Allan worked for him on Drug Squad until we were transferred in the summer of 1974. Your parents and Allan & I did a lot of partying together back then and they were the most fun to be with. You may remember us visiting with you at your cottage on Lake Huron in 1975 with our baby son, Scott…we have photos of you together in the water and you would have been about 10 yrs old. Your dad was a JEWEL and he once told me his greatest joy in his life was having “Re-Pete” for his son. He adored you and was so proud of you. Regretably, we lost touch over the years, but thinking of Tom always brought a smile to our faces. Please give our Best Wishes to your Mother and Sincere Condolences to you, Tom’s widow, Brenda, and all the family. As an expression of our sympathy, we have forwarded a donation to our local hospital in Tom’s memory.
God Bless,

Hello, we do not know each other but I am writing to you in regards of the loss of your dear family member, S/Sgt Tom Brown. I would like to send my deepest sympathy. It seems so unfair that death should have the power to take away someone you love and it can be most difficult to bear.
The Bible, however, holds out a wonderful hope. The Scriptures indicate that it is possible to be reunited with your dead loved one in the near future right here on earth – Psalms 37:11. Although this is a time of sadness, I would like to direct you to some encouraging and comforting information that can be shared amongst you and your family. A sample of it is contained in the online brochure “When Someone You Love Dies” found at:

I went to Central with Brownie and managed the senior football team when he ran amok so well. I shot pool with Tom at his Dad’s Masonic Temple.
I am with a group of Central exes that remarkably keep track of each other and I am sure that Tom will be missed by everyone. (Terry, Peter, Cliff,Dave,Terry Sando etc.)
My condolaences to all of you!
Some what belated condonlemcies from Scotland. I have fond momories of out trips to Canada to see Aunt Margret and Uncle Pete. Sorry we lost touch after mum died.
